Good Starter Tames?

I started my singleplayer Ragnarok world, so far i have a wooden house, a tamed parasaur and a carbonemys, is there any other tames that would benefit me? (No Dilos)

Trike is great at the beginning. the knock back is nice. gather berries for narco. Where on Ragnarok did you start? some type of meat gathering dino would be good too

Do Raptors spawn on Ragnarok? And i spawned near the top left, i headed in and found this giant t rex looking skeleton and made a base in there.

I usually skip raptors and get cats cause they can carry more weight. But bola works for both.

Personally I'd head to the scotlands and gather some carrots and tame an Equss, they are fast, good gatherer and a good knockout tamer if high enough level.

Why no dilos? They make meat gathering less annoying for your next carnivore tame.

If a dilo kills something and eats it, will i get ALL the resourcres from the dilos inv?

Yes you can get the meat and hide off of dilos.

You can harvest meat with a pick but you have to deal with repairs.

A pack of dilos is nice early game. They harvest meat. And can act as a sacrificial shield that can watch your back.

Starter dinos? Trike is a must have to collect narcoberries. Raptor, wolf, or saber to get some meat.

Equus as noted is a pretty easy tame (carrots, found wild in the highlands). Not great for berries but fast with good weight, and can knock out other dinos without huge problems.

And if you see one in the bay, a Basilosaurus (whale). Passive tame on meat....probably the best mid-range water dino you can get.

After their recent TLC, I'm not sure wolves are much "starter" tames, anymore, especially not in Rag.. a pack of them will maul you in seconds if you can even get close enough to the snow that early.

I wouldn't really call an Equus a starter tame- they're easy to tame like a parasaur, but the only utility they give you is speed.
Still more useful than a parasaur that doesn't even have that.

dimorphodon. they destroy everything in a group larger than 5-10. you can tame them with bola + slingshot.
the tortoise. a LOT of health, it can tank dinos while you fill them up with tranq arrows from it's back. very good for taming others.
for water stuff, the baryonyx. you can bola it, and when tamed, it kills everything under water except annoying eels and stuff, but for that there is the basilo, which can be tamed when you have a baryonyx.
hope this helps. until i can get the baryonyx i just tame a good raptor, have my flock of dimorphs following and i am invincible.
