If I buy the ARK: Survival Evolved Explorer's Edition while I already own the base game could I send the extra copy of the game as a gift or no?

you need to check if its gonna work as you think it may,i bought the season pass in the recent sale whilst allready owning scorched earth ,the game advised me i "would not receive another copy of scorched earth as i allready owned it"on the final purchase screen.

I agree with medicinehead, I am pretty confident that in such a case you get just the missing items, like pretty any Steam bundles I have seen and bought, never happened to me to get an extra copy to gift of the items I had already.
