Industrial crafting stations, worth?
Hey all, been debating something, as I near certain upgrades for my base. Are things like the Industrial Forge worth it for a solo-survivor? I understand that it has a 20x speed increase for production of metal/gas ect. But what I am struggling with, when it comes to justifying me having one is that, one the cost of crafting it, and two the space required for it.

Thanks in advance to those who reply.

It depends really if you keep up with the demand with what they produce or if you need more materials. Do you want 20 refining forges burning off wood, spark or angler gel whichever you use, and also have to farm for each one, or the ind forge which can smelt 59 stacks of metal with 7 gasoline.

I would personally say, looking at it when playing as a small tribe, the industrial forge is very helpful to have and if I had to choose one industrial tier item(assuming you don't mean fabricator and refrigerator) it would be that. The chem bench is nice to have and makes life easier, but if you were alone I think you could get by with a few mortars instead - but depending which map I were on I'd try to get one if I could once I can get pearls easily enough. The grinder is much less a necessity if you're playing solo unless you're wanting to dedicate a fair few hours exclusively farming stone/wood to level yourself - that said, in some of the deeper regions of Aberration you may want to consider it if flint is a problem for you.

Tl;dr industrial forge is good to have, depending on how fast you use/farm metal. Chem bench is nice to have, if you can get silica pearls without too much difficulty. Grinder isn't much of a big deal but may be worth it in some parts of Aberration if you're struggling to farm flint.

Unless you are playing PvP you just dont need that much metal and it doesn't improve upon a normal forge enough so for me an indy forge is a nice to have but not important and usually something I build because I have a vault full of metal and nothing to do with it.

The cooker is by the far the best industrial upgrade for how much it automates compared to a cooking pot which has limited slots and requires constant water refills. Chem bench isn't bad either.

Grinder is good for levelling up but offers very little beyond that so kinda expensive for what it brings to the table and its far more useful in a tribe of people where your whole tribe can sit on various dinos and power level them.

Personally, I think the industrial forge is the best. However, the industrial grinder is severely under-valued. If any of you ever do loot drop hunting, you have probably found many saddles or weapons or items in general that you do not need. Well just stick em in the grinder and you get half the resources it would have taken to craft, had you crafted it yourself.

Alone for the fact of getting your hands on lots of Coal for Gunpowder faster is enought to make the Forge worth it IMO!

It worth when you progress and need metal for almost everything.

Want do a cave and need 250 shotgun shells?

Want to do a boss and need saddles and loads of stuff?

Did the boss and want a replicator?

Got that sick bp thay will require an insane amount of metal?

I could keep going
