When are they going to drop the price?
When are they going to drop the price? I think sixty dollars US, is too steep.

Wait for a sale. You just missed the winter sale.

I doubt its retail price will drop until they finish all dlc. And though, they said they only have 1 more planned, the game is still popular enough they might add on another one or 2

It's $32 on Humble Bundle for a little under 2 more days.

Its on sale right now via the humblebundle website's winter sale in their storefront along with discounts too for the dlc. About 35bucks atm if I remember right. So if you want it best get it soon as there's less than a day and and change left to get it at that rate.

Also for the love of Baby Raptor Deities, do -not- get this game if your computer is below, at or only slightly above the min reqs to play the game. Ark is one of the most demanding games on rigs atm and every day some one posts they cant play the game to only discover they thought their comp's inferiority would be the exception to the rule.

Also judging by your game play interests, make sure this game matches you.

That's... remarkable. They've been around since 2010 as bundling games for money given to charities and have expanded from there.

I think I've heard of it 2 or 3 times. I've never used it though.

Guess we can't be too surprised about people never finding/hearing/or learning about stuff. I have friends at my work place who've never heard of steam before. :/

That's a bit more silly to informal fallacy with though if your workplace has nothing to do with gaming for example. McDonalds workers or management at Goldman Sachs wouldnt necessarily be aware of Steam after all right unless they were into PC games, especially in a pretty small town setting or such. Thus the context of that premise is a bit off wouldnt you say.

Games are also expensive to develop, especially games at the cutting edge of graphical technology like Ark.
$60 is more than fair. Even at that point they need to rely on DLC costs in order to profit instead of just scraping by on a return-on-investment.

60 is not fair for a game imo.... imo it's insane....

It was fair 10 years ago, but since then there's been both inflation and an even higher cost to develop high-end games.
Like any other game, the price isn't going to drop until they've made enough of a profit that they can afford it.

Trying making your own game and see how time-intensive every little thing becomes. Also keep in mind that $60 is really, really cheap compared to how much games cost in the past even though they were much less complex. Were you not alive during the NES / SNES era when some of the games cost more than $60 and that was 25 - 35 years years ago. Be happy the prices didn't keep up with inflation. (I suppose it would also be fair to note that the amount of games, per title, that get sold are likely much, much higher today than in the past which is most likely why they're cheaper now.)

Another thing to consider is you can buy a game for $60 and get countless hours of enjoyment from it, or you can go out to eat or go boozing and spend the same amount of money on something that you'll forget about 2 days later.

If you're like me, you'll only buy the games that you really, really want, but then again I apply that philosophy to nearly everything in life that's money related.

I would gladly pay the sixty bucks, if there weren't soo many negetive reviews about the game, and I had other friends who I knew that played it.
I bought ARMA 3, and The Witcher3.....and hate them both. That is what I am trying to avoid.
