ABBERATION: Players Constantly Teleporting to Host
Alright, there's a few key things to note here, please read through them ALL before posting a response assuming I missed something when I'm about to potentially list it below.

- I'm running a non-dedicated server. (I'm aware dedicated is better.)
- I know how tether distance works and yes mine is set quite high.

The issue I'm having I DO NOT have on ANY other map. I've played every single map with the same person for quite some time now and never once have I had the issue I'm experiencing here on Abberation.

Whenever I enter different biomes, other players get teleported to me. Whenever I die and res, if they're still in the place I died in and I res in another, they get teleported to me. Honestly, it's becoming obnoxious, incredibly annoying and killing this amazingly fun map for me bit by bit over time.

I'm aware that I could apparently fix this issue by getting a dedicated server up and running but my internet is very slow and the only hope of playing online for me is through LAN most of the time. It's a last resort, basically.

What I don't understand is why this issue ONLY happens on Abberation. I understand dungeons and stuff being instanced, but every biome in Abberation seems to be... Why? Is this intended? I don't have this problem on any map and my tether distance is set the same on all of them.

If anyone knows a fix or a workaround, please let me know. Or if this is intended I'd love to know that as well so I know if I absolutely MUST bite the bullet and get the dedicated server going. Again, for several reasons, that is a last resort for me.

Google 'Ark Teather Distance' , there are also other discussions on this in General Discussions.

The different biomes of Aberration function as different instances and thus they will always cause the teleportation issues you’ve been experiencing. Unfortunately for you, the only “fix” would indeed be to move to a dedicated server. Good luck!

I just don't understand why it's like this... Is the map just that heavy that each zone has to be instanced in order for everything to load properly? An option for to bypass it for beefier computers would be nice. It's annoying that this is the only map that does it this way...

Thank you for the response, though!

I can only imagine that the reason is that because how render distance is spherical and the map has some overlapping and a lot of verticality that they are instanced to prevent too much from attempting to render multiple biomes at once. It's a pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥ speculation but it's all I could come up with.

Pretty much all I can think of as well.

run a dedicated server and you'll get rid of it.

changing the tether distance can help but idk about performance issues because ive never used a non dedicated myself.

Read the whole post? The distance is not affecting it. There is a big 'ol bubble in the sky when you get close to it, and it doesn't teleport you if you hit it, it pushes you. So aside from the potential of when respawning being out of tether distance, that is not what going on. Although you are most likely correct that the only fix will be a dedicated server.

I have read this whole thread and I have this exact same problem just like OP. I also can't have a dedicated server (for personal reasons) and I won't join a official server for "reasons" as well. I have played all the other maps in co-op mode with my boyfriend and only in aberration we have this issue were we get teleported to the host. It's not our tether distance, it's a problem with the DLC map.

Is there really no other way to fix this , other than running a Dedicated server or joining an Official server? Because it just doesn't make any sence to be able to customize my Non-dedicated server Tether Distance if it won't work once we start playing.

Doesn't seem like there is a real way to fix it with just how the zones are handled. Which sucks. Having a hard time enjoying this expansion in co op.
