Baby Ovis questions
So after a break from the game I started a new single player game and I tamed 2x Ovis L50 and tried breeding, a short while later I seen the baby. I claimed her and checked her stats and her health was going up everything seamed ok, turned around and got a notification on screen saying she had died, I turned round to take a look and she was indeed dead with her mother stood on her with what looked like blood on her face.. Did the mother kill her newborn? or is something else to blame? baby had enough food and stats were going up.

This was in a enclosed space (barn) 7x7x4.

sometimes if you tweak the food drain and consumption it can kill babies.

Known bug, babies do not automaticly eat when the are born. Force feeding for the first couple of minutes will fix this

weird... never heard of this bug..... when in baby phase you have to put food in its inventory manually, but I never had to forcefeed it... or is this specificly tied to the oviraptor baby?

Babies not eating happens across all species, its a known bug. Watch them and if you see them not eating, forcefeed

This. It is rarer in some and more prevalent in others. I had a friend who had every ovis she tried to breed like this. It's a problem with the server updating the babies status. Force feeding for a bit can reset it.

This “server lag” also causes tames to eat late/earlier, mating process stalling and hatching/birthing delays. Officials and Nitrado hosted servers seem alike on this, with officials being the worst

Dont play officials
