Plant Species X Vanishes
I had a few Plant Species X turrets planted around my base and came back to find that three of them were gone. Thought maybe that they started attacking something they shouldn't have and got destroyed but then I saw one just vanish in front of my eyes. I was watching two of them attacking a Trike, the Trike wasn't anywhere near the plants, and then one of the plants and large crop planter both just crumbled into the ground. I play on a private server and was the only person online at the time so it couldn't have been anyone else. I also make sure to keep a minimum of 150k+ fertilzer in the planters at all times, in fact the one that just vanished I had just checked and it had 305k fertilizer in it. Has anyone else just have the plants and crop planters just vanish without a trace? After it crumbled it didn't even leave a bag with the fertilizer. Just was gone without a trace.

A couple things about what you are saying doesn't really add it...

1) The fert is in the crop plot, not the plant. So if the plant disappeared, it wouldn't have left a bag, the fert would be in the crop plot.
2) Are the crop plots being destroyed also in every case, or are sometimes they just empty?
3) Are your crop plots watered? the plants will die if you don't have a good supply of water.
4) If the crop plot is destroyed, something has to be doing damage to it. Like a dino or something.

Do crop plots suffer structure degradation over time? Asking for a friend....

But seriously, been on unofficial for so long I can't remember. :)

No they do not.

Damage can destroy them(wood tier afterall so many dinos can easily do that).

Or if someone has been away from their base and a server has a decay timer enabled along with auto demolish then they'll go poof(but for the OP that point wouldnt have existed as an issue because he was there which would've refreshed the timer)

Your description of "just crumbled into the ground" means a demoloshment. You cite the trikes but its very possible that another dino, something smaller may have been attacking it that you didnt notice and ended it.

To this end, I recommend going on youtube and checking out various videos that show builds using metal to house a crop plot to prevent/minimize damage.

to make them safer, there are a few youtube vids on how to build them into a bunker covering them with a hatch. keeps people from removing the fertalizer in them and keeps them safe and sound from dino attacks

1) The plant and the crop plot both are disappearing.
2) The crop plots are also being destroyed in every case as well. Nothing is left.
3) I have irrigation going to the crops so they were fully hydrated.
4) I'm not sure about the other three but the one that disappeared in front of eyes was taking zero damage. I have the damage visible on they server and no damage was showing.

I'm the tribe leader and there wasn't anything in the logs about what happened.

I have the setting that shows the floating damage numbers when anything takes damage and I can say for a fact that the last one didn't take any damage at all.

That's what is confusing me. The last one didn't take a single point of damage and it still crumbled. It was shooting at a Trike one second and then just disappeared the next, crop planter and all.
I would say after all of that, you were probley ark'ed. So watch the video change the spot maybe and make sure settings in log are enabled to show things. Good luck

Modded crop plot with some kind of mod failure maybe? Just spit-balling, but it's possible... unlikely after the game has already loaded, but possible.

Oh, and thanks for clarifying for me @retsam1. Appreciate it bud.

sounds like it burned up all the fertalizer in the plot, or the irrigation was used up.

do you use Steam punk mod? I know if you park the air ship over your plots, that hulking mass of copper will stop rain from irrigating it.

I never figured out what caused this. The crop plots were full of fertilizer, fully hydrated, were in direct sunlight, they were full health, and nothing was attacking them that would have destroyed them. Just all of a sudden they just started exploding. Over the next couple of days all the crop plots in the area did the same thing one or two at a time. Was the strangest thing.
