Aberration Megalos broken?
Hey everyone,

I raised some Megalos recently with the idea of using them on Rockwell but have run into an issue. I raised a Megalo and leveled him to max so with imprint rider and mate boost he does 1350 damage but after some testing I found that if I ride another Megalo and get him to attack a target he only does about 140 damage.

Another player on my server brought the issue up with me which is why I tested. Has anyone else come across this and if so do you know if this is intended or are the Aberration Megalos bugged?

All the best.

Supposedly, unridden megalos attempt to grab the enemy, even if it is not a thing it can grab.

My other player thought that may be the cause as well. If it is true then in my mind Megalos are bugged.

Two issues

(1) When you ride your Impinted dino, it gets a 33% damage buff (cause you raised it)
but the real issue with megalosaurus is

(2) when they do not have a rider, they only do there 'chomp' attack instead of there bite attack, which is way way less damage then there normal attack.

This effect the normal megalosaurus too, but no one uses normal megalosaurus on bosses.

We take in one megalosaurus per rider, and roll rats for the rest (yes roll rats!)

Is this intended?
Because mine is doing about 10% of damage.

No idea, but for now, we just do not use ones without a rider.

I actually posted about this a little while back because I was also raising megalos to fight Rockwell. I feel like it's a bug as well and hopefully it will be fixed at some point because I have 40 megalos just standing around doing nothing for now. Haha

Ouch, 40 sitting around. I agree that this does feel like a bug and it renders the Megalos useless without riders which is sad as they're excellent Dinos on Aberration.

I took as megalosaurus and a couple rock drakes to do some queen hunting and found that, though not often, the megalo would indeed bite. I think that Megalo AI prioritizes the grab for tamed megalos because the wild ones also grab first and ask questions later.
