How to get crystal?

On level 7 or so you can learn to make a spyglass. You need 2 crystal for that but as far as I know you can only find crystal in caves or underwater caves. And Imo it's very unlikely you can enter those caves at that level. Any ideas?

On every map you can easly get crystal if you know where to search. If you dont provide map name then we wont be able to help you much

You need a metal pick or an anky tho as far i can remember stone pick eill get you only stone from crystals

You'll need a metal pick to harvest crystal.. But you can find Crystal on top of mountains, in caves, in underwater caves and in the snow biome on the island.

I normally head up to the snow biome on the west side of the island early on to get some but I can't stay there long because i'll freeze to death.. plus there are Rexes and other nasty predators around there that can ruin the trip..
I usually build a small house on a raft and use that to get them.

Change your priorities. At level 7 you dont need to be worrying about a spyglass. Focus on crafting a base to eventually house yourself and secure tames. Its like going to the grocery store for food but being too focused and worried on what checkout rag magazine to buy.

It's been a while since I passed through level 7, buuuut if I recall correctly, you CAN get crystal with a stone pick. Not much and you're going to break a lot of crystal before you get that elusive one piece of crystal, but it is possible with a stone pick.

Best (easiest) locations-

Top of island East of the Footpaw and Top of ithe sland NE of that same island. Both have limited crystal on top, Probably take several trips with a stone pick - maybe getting one crystal each time.

Other place is some of the caves, close to their entrances. At level 7 I wouldn't venture very far into those caves, but near the entrancea of certain caves you can find one or two crystal deposits. Again, might require multiple trips harvesting it all until you get that elusive piece of crystal.

You want a spyglass early on - you got to work for it.

Thanks everyone for helping. I am level 37 at the moment but I just noticed that it unlocks at level 7 and I was just wondering how a low-leveled character should get any crystal. Personally I found one at a beacon. I do not own any crystal yet so thanks for the tips :)
