Upgrade my i5 4690k or my r9 290 first?
So I am going to upgrade my pc and was wondering what to upgrade first. My current setup is:
CPU: i5 4690k (4 core 3.5GHz)
GPU: Sapphire R9 290 tri-x oc edition (4 gb VRAM)
Motherboard: Asus Z97-A
RAM: 8Gb ddr3 1600MHz if I remember correctly.

So Im debating about upgrading my processor to an i7 8700k or 7700k which will make me have to buy a new motherboard and also new ram (ddr4). I will upgrade my ram to 16gb either if I go gpu or cpu upgrade. If I'm going for the gpu I will go for a gtx1070 of some kind. I have been taking a look at whats bottlenecking and acording to that it looks like my cpu is bottlenecking.

What would you guys upgrade first of CPU or GPU and why. I am looking for a diffrence in fps when I'm in larger bases as my fps tends to go down quite a bit there.

What would make the most diffrence and give me the best performance in my case?

Let me tell you, I have a i7 4790K and a GTX 1080 FE

While playing Ark, the i7 is used like 50% while the GTX 1080 FE is always 99%-100%

Soooooo, IMHO, update your gpu first.

This... but good luck finding one the cryptocurrency miners keep buying all of the cards so its almost impossible to find any 1050ti's, 1060's, 1070's, or 1070ti's. Last I checked I could find some 1080's but even they were getting pretty sparse. .IT is possible to find them all through resellers but the prices are like doubled.

I have an i3. I upgraded my GPU to the 1080 Ti, and it was the right decision. I recommend upgrading your GPU first.

Definity some more RAM.

I'd go for a new gpu. Just got myself a 1060 6gb and it's fantastic for the price.

Consider getting an AIO Water cooler and overclocking if you feel up to it.

That way you can get the best of both worlds. :)

Still running a 4690k myself still havent found any games that make it sweat even at stock speeds, I'd say upgrade the gpu.
