How do I transfer characters between player dedicated servers?

I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I cannot find a solution for my problem and I thought some of you might be able to help.

I run a dedicated server where my family and I play. I haven't set up a cluster nor have I ever messed with the configuration files, only with what options the game offers on the host server screen.

I have characters on Scorched Earth that I want to transfer to the Island. Every single page, post and video I've watched/read about transferring characters show an "upload character data" button when you visit the obelisk. I do not have this, instead I have a transfer servers button that opens up an empty list because I have no other servers to transfer to. It allows me to upload tames and items but not my character.

What am I doing wrong?

You do not have the cluster(other maps) to transfer to.

The transfer window has a checkbox to show only password protected servers, make sure its unchecked.

Thanks for the reply! So that's my problem? I was under the impression that I would just be able to upload it, start a new game, then download. I NEED to set up a cluster for this to work?

You should not require a cluster.... its possible you do not have character uploads enabled.

Ok, let's say I don't. How would I go about enabling character uploads?

It *should* be on by default..

Check that in your servers gameusersettings.ini
Underneath [ServerSettings]

There something like this

PreventDownloadSurvivors=False
PreventDownloadItems=False
PreventUploadSurvivors=False
PreventUploadItems=False
PreventUploadDinos=False

Just make sure you either have a server password... or you turn off upload/download afterwards.

What are you using to host the server? I host my own 5 map cluster using ark server manager and clustering is a 100% requirement to move between servers as it allows data to be transferred.

Just my laptop, and the game. Not using any special software.

if your ps4 you can use this command "cheat playercommand Ascend1", this will upload your character then you can change the map and download it

Thanks! I often play on the Xbox/Microsoft Version, I wonder if that command would work on there too.
