Chitin on Ragnarok? Also, cactus??

I have yet to see a single Tril on the beach. There are turtles but they put up a long fight with a maybe drop. You only find bugs when you are not looking for them. Is there some easy way to get Chit on Rag's map that I don't know about?

Also found cactus which does not feed or water you like it's hover tip says. Is this the broken part of Rag that never got fixed everyone is on about?

Spawns are random based on spawn weights if the settings. Kill everything get new spawns.

Or go to swamp. Kill something. Let bugs swarm. Then get lots of chitin.

Eating cactus dosen't refill food or water.

"The tool tip states that the cactus sap should sate thirst when consumed, but at the moment it will only sate hunger on the Scorched Earth map.
At the moment, harvesting the resource will give water instead of eating the sap"

I get the bulk of all my chitin (which is a lot) from the desert area. Mantis, Jug/Water Bug, Beetle

Cactus is useful in making cactus broth which reduces the rate at which you get thirsty and gives makes you a little less visible to the nasties.

I use to farm chitin in viking bay. There are a shipwreck at the bottom, and around that wreck there are lot of this lobster lookalike :) And they drop both chitin, oil, blackpearl and pearls. It is a pain to get rid of the sharks tho. Cementing paste can be found in 3 beaver dams right west of the ruined castle. You can also find large amount of clay near the dams. If it is only chitin you need, take a trip to the dessert. There are all kind of chitin droppers
