Chitin

So I know Trilobites and bugs like spiders scorpions, and the annoying ones you find flying around give you Chitin, but you need an ungodly amount to make of a lot of cementing paste. Is there an easier way to collect chitin?

Well, I don't have access to honey or rockcarrots or nothing. I'll have to find those before taming a snail.

You didn't mention which map you are playing on. the answer to finding chitin changes wildly based on map.

Honey and carrots are easy to get so no real excuse to not have them tbh ..... use beaver dams or frogs since you dont want to get a snail . Caves with lots of bugs on a wolf or saber is a great source to get chitin as well.

Beavers dont give cp unless something changed recently...

Well, I'm not exactly sure how to get bees.... and I do want a snail actually. I'm just trying to find a place to build at the moment.

Vastly depends on the map you play on, most have spots you can hunt bugs for.
Or you can raid beaver damms, just make sure you clear them as they don't get refilled.
Is the snail worth it? Last time i checked they made far too few to bother with them.

If you're on TheIsland map, you want to get a Sabertooth (wolves work, but sabertooth are better as solo mounts), any mounts larger than sabertooths won't fit in caves. There are several caves with loads of bugs, especially the central cave to the east of Volcano, that one is also one of the more safer caves too. We used to call it "Chitin Cave" during my official days in the past :)

On Ragnarok, it's the mantis you want to farm for chitin. There's honestly not a lot of bugs condensed together on Ragnarok, but farming Mantis and Centipedes near the volcano is your best bet.

I don't know too much about TheCenter, but there are caves with tons of bugs as well. I haven't visited that map too much, but I do remember the caves being large enough to fit rexes in it.

Megatherium get a considerable amount of chitin from bugs, 150+ from dragonflies on an official server, believe 2x was off at the time. Havent owned one in a while since I moved from exctintion to The Center and have access to a mega-load of beaver dams now.

Well, I'm not exactly sure how to get bees.... and I do want a snail actually. I'm just trying to find a place to build at the moment.

You can walk up to hives to get honey but if you want your own hive yull have to get bee which is passively tamed which sometimes can be difficult . check out gamepedia for info on that one .

Snail will give you organic poly (if set on wander) and store it like a fridge for it as well as achantia (spelling?) paste which is just cp.

So the question is do you want to go out and farm every time you need honey , cp or poly or want to just go across your base and pick some up for just the cost of some flowers (bee hive) or veggie cakes (snails) so take that into account when you ever find the place you want to build at .

Well, I'd like to build a tree platform in the red woods. And there are plenty of bee hives there. But as far as the veggie cakes, I'd have to grow those crops. And you said store it in a fridge...like the snail? Why would you do that?
