i'm playing single player Ark and when i try to use admin commands it wont work

when i hit tab and it brings up the admin commands bar i try to get it to work by doing the command "enablecheats". it asks me for a password, but i am playing single player. it is frustrating because no where on the internet are there answers to this. may someone please respond or did i just waste over 100GB on my computer.

you don't need to enablecheats or use a password and you don't use "admin" either. Just

some commands do not work without admincheat however, ive tried using just cheat with some commands and they do not seem to work for some reason, cheat walk, cheat fly and all that work fine, but i have to use admincheat for dino wiping or anything like that.... but yes, you do not need to enable cheats on singleplayer, as by default they are always turned on for singleplayer worlds since you are the admin anyways

also sometimes there are some commands that dont work without capitilization, not sure if thats just me, but sometimes commands such as "admincheat DestroyWildDinos" does not work if the command is in lower case, just to bare in mind if things dont look like theyre working

You were doing something wrong, no insult intended. You do not need to use "admin" ever in single player, including dino wipes. They aren't case sensitive either. I don't know what is going on when you do it.

This was always the case for me as well... loved looking at a Giga in SP, hitting TAB and typing "kill"... now THAT'S a cheat...

In singelplayer u either dont need cheat u just wirt the command

Did you ever find a solution? The cheats worked just fine for a while for me with Enablecheats then I launched my game as a non-dedicated server w/o a pw. ever since single-player cheats do not work and enable cheats requires a PW, even when i added a pw to the non-dedicated and put it in with the PW it doesn't work.

Cheat password is separate from the server pw.

I wonder if on servers you have to use the dedicated server method. Enable cheat password and then admin cheat fly or whatever.
