i have on my z270-a two m2 slots one is for pcie and sata the other one is just for sata both in x2 or x4
Already testet it on my old board z170 from asus with same results.
And the chance that 2 slots from 1 motherboard having issues is really small,
but again another slot from the other MB? impossible :P
This is my first m2 but its not possible that every game is running flawless and ark is makin some trouble on it :)
Already changed the m2 two times in the store to make sure its not the hardware itself.
At the Moment im possible to play it again on my old SSHD like before .. but i really cant explain what i've done to make it run again .. because i done nothing and just chilled 2-3 hours and just tested it again for fun .. so im really confused at the moment
How i said every other single game is running flawless how it should be
16GB DDR4 @2666
From a friend, but that could be not a problem because 7 other from us can still play :)
After i expanded my new m.2 NVMe im able to play without any problems anymore on my good old SSHD without freeze's and crashes.
Is it possible that my PNU is really the issue for it?
Because i already lowered my Voltage Settings in the Bios from my OC CPU and set it on default.
So the logic should be to free up some voltage space for the NVMe or not?
Well did u played other Games on it too before u changed the service?
And when u did, did they run without issues and just Ark keeps freezing/crashing?
Looks interesting if this will just fix it :o
Or you just played ark on it?
Edited update:
Okay your idea wasnt a success .. sad story :/
but thx anyways
What exactly did you expand on your m.2?
Well you explained you had a 750W PSU, how old? If it doesn't make loud noises while in Idly mode, then your PSU should be ok
Hmm you play Conan Exiles? And it goes well on the m.2? And Ark has no problems on your SSHD for now?
You could make a Comparison between Conan Exiles or games which work on your m.2 with Ark on the SSHD. Watching the values in the task-manager and resource monitor.
And I don't think it has anything to do with AHCI or NVMe Mode... (AHCI has lesser transferrate as NVMe) <<
The NVMe is loading a lot faster than the SSHD.
And u really can see the difference about them 2 :)
And yea Conan runs flawless but Ark crashes / freezing the PC.
But the weird thing is, i removed the m2 and ARK runs great again on the SSHD...
Before it crashed on both when the NVMe was implemented.
My PSU btw is exactly 1 year old
Yea thought the same too but still a useless try :(
Same Situation like before ..
Actually i took my money back for the new NVMe because ark was the main reason to buy it :P
Well i will get some new upgrades soon cpu / mb / gpu and maybe i'll try it again.
But i want to say thanks to everyone who tried to help me.
Seriously, 250GB is enough for a boot drive and that's all.
800w
32Gb Ram
AMD Ryzen 7
GEFORZE 2080 TI
I try with sata ssd and the same problem but less times.
Only works 100% in HDD.
Only with ark have this problem.
I think there is a problem in reading/write in ssd drives but the problem is in ark.
You have a 2080, that causes your pc to freeze with ARK.
