Using a Tusoteuthis to tame?
Hi, today i tamed my first tusoteuthis :)
however i heard stories they can be used for taming!
however i have not been able to figure out if this is true and if so how do the controls work?
right click only seems to grab it not add torpor or suck up its health of the victim :steamsad:

you can use the Tuso to drag the target into a taming pen, or if you are playing with other people, they can shoot the target with tranq arrows while one person holds the target still using the Tuso.(so that you don't need a taming pen)

The Wiki says it does when holding a wild dino.

Holding the victim adds torpor, but very slowly. If you position yourself in a correct way you can be on the saddle above water and remove your scuba tank to conserve oxygen while still holding the prey below water level. It is a slow but surefire way to tame a high level mosa, for example. Takes a lot of time though, so better bring a friend with a crossbow and some tranq arrows.

Yup holding it is enough. I like to tame anglerfish with tusos, it just takes a few minutes so try to avoid sharks and other critters.

Separate to this, as it is your first, get real used to the controls and how other creatutes, especially smaller ones, can avoid being hit or lock your movement.

It is real easy to get swarmed, especially in the caves, and lose it as you get locked in place by manta and other fish and cannot move while larger animals wear you down.

Without awesome Teleporters mod I would have lost a dozen while learning how to use it

Long time since this thread was new, but I have a related question: Does the Tusoteuthis still inflict torpor while it's holding something that is NOT hostile, such as a Mosasaurus that's lost interest due to being dragged into the shallows? I.E. am I wasting my time sitting here with a now-passive Mosa in my Tuso's tentacles?
