What graphics settings hit the hardest on performance?
Just downloaded the game again and trying to figure out what settings to put stuff on to maximize quality while also getting 60 fps

DX10 vs. DX11 is huge if you're willing to take the quality hit. There is also a vsync ini setting so you can cap framerate at your monitor refresh.

I used the settings guide here with good results:

https://windowsreport.com/ark-survival-evolved-graphics-settings/

I'd also recommend setting your resolution scaling to 90% and anti-aliasing to low, this will make the game render at a slightly lower res, then upscale it with a pleasant inherent anti-alias effect, while boosting FPS.

There's also a known issue with RTX 20X0 cards and the Nvidia drivers causing crashing, having a recent driver and setting "Terrain Shadows" to LOW seems to solve it for most people.

You would have to really do the research but I think the slider in game menu adjust sky quality. The launch command nomansky adjust several other things as well in regairds to lighting. I can say that after crashing daily ( usually on a flying mount) after using nomansky in launch options. I have had very good luck with almost eliminating any crashes. I’ve gone from 1/2 daily to 1 maybe every few weeks. Though it’s been said many times what works for me may work for you, and what works for you may not work for me.
