Questions about Play as a Dino mode
I'm considering buying this game solely based on this mode alone. Just a few questions based on some confusion I had from watching a few videos:

1. Is every creature from Ark playable in the game, or is that something just from mods?
2. Can people who are playing a creature interact with people playing humans (can human players be hunted or is it just human npcs as I saw in one video on youtube?)
4. Does human ai have buildings?
3. Does each creature have an eating animation?
4. If you are a giant creature can you tear down trees?

Thanks for any replies!

the best place to get those answers is on the actual mod page. go ask there, so sarcastic sleep deprived people like me to answer. LOL :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

I thought there was an official play as a dinosaur mode as well. There was news about it in June 2016. Did the plans just get scrapped and modders picked up the idea?

Yes, as usual.
Here's my take on your questions:

1. Most of them are playable but don't rely on it to play as newer dinosaurs since the mod has been inactive since last year.
2. Don't know how it works it multiplayer tbh
3. There are NO human AIs in the BASE game. However, there several mods that do, and some of those several have humans than can build settlements. I won't list them off here mainly since I'd have to delve into the big ass workshop again but you get the point.
4. Dinosaur eating animations are basically their bite attacks. So technically they do have an "eating" animation.
5. Yes, giant creatures like Brontosaurus and Titanosaurs can break down trees. Some creatures need to punch trees to go through them however.

Going kinda off-topic here but I suggest you buy this game if it's premise of surviving in a sci-fi land of tameable dinosaurs and abundant modding capabilities interests you. (Also make sure your PC can handle it) Yes, Play As A Dino is a mod, but it is only one of many. The game is incredibly configurable to one's taste.

EDIT: Hit me up if you have more questions. Always happy to help.

I do like the survival/taming elements, but I've always been more interested in dino simulation...as well as there always being other games of more interest, also the $50 price tag.

But since I saw this mod on YouTube, I just had to have this game. So many different creatures to play as. I will also be getting the human ai mod. Just waiting for a sale to pick it up.

I suggest looking at some more gameplay videos and determine if the base game/modded game has the right kind of "simulation" for you. I don't really know how much of a dino sim Ark is, although it's mainly because I don't have anything for comparison.

I know its not as deep as something like 'the Isle' or 'Saurian', but it seems pretty darn cool that you get to play as something like a scorpion, large prehistoric croc, bear, monster spider, giant snake, griffen, dragon, prehistoric sea creatures and other beasts. Seems like a lot of variety there. I have seen quite a few gameplay videos.

Just keep in mind that the last time this mod was updated was November of last year. Its not compatible thus in some ways with Extinction and as updates continue to the game by Wildcard, there is potential for the mod to have issues if the guy doesnt update the mod further. So take that into consideration when using that mod.

Actually, there is a version 2 of the mod, which was last updated May 4. Search 'play as a dino' on the workshop, and you'll see there is a V2 of the mod.
