The Isle : Hold my beer.
LAZY DEVS ;)
I'd second all of this if I knew how any of it worked. I don't. I just play a game that I enjoy.
I have all 4 DLCs + all free maps and several mods all together it that comes to almost 200gb so it doesn't seem that big for what I'm getting, too me at least.
Wha? Checking through Local Files tab on Steam...
ARK: 198gb
The Isle: 21.4gb
That's the smallest shot glass for beer I've ever seen. Wait, is that a thimble?
So your arguments are the next, the game is massive, has 5 dlcs, lots of Dinos, lots of items and its a "UE4" game....
That defends the horrid file management inside the game? the game has to be big when a team doesn't know how to optimise their asset usage or don't know how to pack things properly.
it defends the fact that the version of UE4 that ARK currently uses is from 2014?(if we are lucky) because of lazy and under qualified programmers that cant port their current work to new versions of UE4 because they wont know how to do it?, hence not having any or none of the thousands of improvements that UE4 got during the years.
The lack of engine optimization?, hence the massively poor performance for a 2014 game?
common, there's many games out there that uses UE4 and run and look much better than ark, ARK is a mess compared to real AAA titles.
Instead of being fanboys and blind sheep try to push the developers to polish their game instead of pushing new crap like ATLAS, it will benefit all of you, that's is if you don't enjoy eating crap and saying its delicious of course.
I own ARK since early access and all the DLC, and i have followed every patch release, and every change log so i know what ARK update history has been like since it came out on EA.
