They might be there.. god only knows... you cant be able to find anything smaller than a mammoth thru the 10ft high giant bushes.. searching for a dodo among that bugged out brush is like trying to find a needle in a haystack
lol
Probably best tactic is tame 20 dodos and put them on a straight line so they can eat them one at a time and head away from here :)
But as has been pointed out, this is not classed as an "easy" zone. It has no classification at all like it should. If you want easy start on small islands.
I started at the same zone .
Everything was fine for about 20 mins until the 101st airborne Rex division landed & I
mean LANDED right on around me .About 6 just spawned from the sky & one was an alpha .
Imagine my surprise !
Also about 5 Trikes dropped in too ... all alphas .
I took shelter by running up the hill to a over hanging arch until they went
which they did not , then a Tech Rex came along !
I moved left along the coast until found a large cave and built a small structure outside .
But ... when I fly my mounts near the entrance I get knocked off & cannot re-mount there .
I have the " let mounts fly in caves " check box checked in the options ?
Spawns are fast , frequent & furious .
At my home base about 6 Bronto`s spawned at once , it was like living in a perpetual earthquake zone .
But ... after all that I still have my lil friend Ethel the Dodo , so things cant be
so bad :(
Uh, I'm pretty sure that "alpha trike" had a rivalry buff from the tek rex.:P
This map is definitely pretty rough, even in the 'easy' zones except the beach you don't get anything smaller than a phioma, and those are a pain to catch on foot early on. I ended up hunting low level ankys for food, since they're slow and chase you instead. Started on the small islands.
I've noticed that the white cliffs are crawling with allos, and of its not them its deinonychus. That's a 'medium' place, or at least it was for the mod version. Really doesn't surprise me that rexs are spawning around there.
theres some river spawns that arent terribly bad until something nasty falls off the cliffs or walks down out of the hills..
those beaches are much easier to deal with cause theres alot less brush cluttering the beachfront making it easier to see threats from a farther distance.. As well as being populated with dodo's, dillos, paras, trikes and stegos..
Though i did see a pack of 8 hyenas just wrecking the place with a L95 at the head.. They laid waste to everything down there except the bronto. Even cleared out a 135 saber that had fallen down off the cliffs. Finally they went chasing a bird out into the water and started vanishing somehow..
Small islands is probably the safest startup of any ARK map ever created. There is not a single thing in the area that harm you it seems. It is like herbivore island.
