Base game 60-70g uncompressed.... steam downloads 2 compressed copies.... verifies one against the other for errors... deletes the copy.
It has never been 3GB. At the release of EA in 2015 it was 40GB.

176gb is nothing, with every update it takes up more and more disk space. I uninstalled after 250gb That is ridiculous!
Yeah some of the bigger mods like the Maps and total conversions need a lot of room on their own. I use to play Annunaki, and Extinction they were huge lol
