176423 mb download?

So, I just tried to install this game, and Steam tells me I need 176423mb of disk space.

Is this game REALLY a 176gb download, or is there some form of bug?

Please do not ask how much disk space I have free, or to check if I read the amount of space required correctly. This figure is a direct quote from the Steam client, and I have enough space to install this on a different computer with less space than this one has, so unless the game has grown about 5x in size in that time (and, I think it's safe to assume that would have been posted VERY prominently in the news section) I'm just wondering when the bug will be fixed so I can install it.

It's bigger if you have all DLCs and use mods. Mine is almost 200gb.

How many DLC do you have selected.

Base game 60-70g uncompressed.... steam downloads 2 compressed copies.... verifies one against the other for errors... deletes the copy.

It has never been 3GB. At the release of EA in 2015 it was 40GB.

Hmmm, if I can figure out how to select only the base game, I'll have 0 DLCs selected. lol Does Steam do that for every game, or is that just for this game? I've never noticed that behaviour before.

Go to the DLC option on the right... deselect dlc's

Steam doesnt verify all games this way.... or even most.

It would depend on the mod. I use Automatic Ark, Death Recovery (Which is worth it imo.) and a few breeding mods to let me breed dinos that you normally can't breed. (As breeding is the part I like.) I also have ISO Crystal Isles which is a map mod as well as all free maps and DLCs.

...as I say with around 100 mods installed. It's honestly ridiculous and I don't even use half of them, I really need to do some late spring cleaning.

I dropped in to see i this game is still taking up tons of disk space and here is my answer.
176gb is nothing, with every update it takes up more and more disk space. I uninstalled after 250gb That is ridiculous!

This is one of them games that needs its own HDD\SSD my install is around 307GB but I do have a lot of mods installed too many if I'm honest.

Yeah some of the bigger mods like the Maps and total conversions need a lot of room on their own. I use to play Annunaki, and Extinction they were huge lol
