Fibre and berries on Valguero

Just trying out the new Valguero map and although there are lots of short fibrous looking plants I'm unable to harvest them. Pressing E has no effect other than to pick up any nearby stones. I've searched a fairly large area now and found nothing I can harvest for fibre or berries. Is anyone else having this problem.

Try the small island spawn point

You actually can harvest the big bushes, you just have to somehow find the one tiny area where they're harvestable...while blind. And hoping some dino you can't see isn't running up to eat you. XD Basically they made the models nice and impressive-looking but gave them miniscule hitboxes or something.

still, it is way harder to collect fiber now than anything else...

I seem to have found the solution. On other maps merely moving close to the plant and looking at it makes it possible to harvest it, but not on Valguero. On this map you need to walk right into a big clump of the bushes so they surround you and then it will usually let you harvest it, although you may still need to move around in the clump a bit first.

Edit: This applies only to the big, tall, coarse bushes where I first spawned. I've since moved to an area where there are smaller bushes which are harvested the normal way.

Just ran into this problem today where i can't harvest plants in the starting island area most of the time. I might get lucky 1/10 times. It's very annoying. I tried leaving the area by swimming but of course died in water. I did try to do what hoddo said above about surrounding yourself with all plants and it seems to work some of the time.
