cant hurt unclaimed dinos on singleplayer

What setting do i need to change so i can kill unclaimed dinos. im currently doing some breeding and want to kill the babies as they arent what im looking for but i cant seem to damage them. what do i need to do

Uncheck the PvE box. Not sure if enabling friendly fire will do the same thing while keeping it PvE but if it's single player you don't need to make it PvE

1. If you are using S+ mod(recommended too if you're doing breeding due to the nanny) there is a gun that lets you kill tames. Just claim the babies n kill away.

2. Wyvern breath weapons can kill tames too. Again just claim n kill this way if you dont want to do it as easily via the first method.

Problem with claiming them and using the euthanasia gun is that only you get the xp. If you enable friendly fire or enable PvP you can kill unclaimed, just hatched, gigas and rexes with tames. It's cheap leveling for boss fighters, great for a solo player.

But in single player (as the OP) its also rendered rather moot since they can make leveling such rather arbitrary if they've employed changes to stats. Also the wyvern method also helps level wyverns :P

Even using the euthanasia gun, if you mount up to harvest the bodies, the mount gets some residual XP for it.

Yeah, if you are using S+ and the euthanasia gun, you don't need to disown them to kill unwanted tames with it.

i am using s+ i just find it annoying to have to keep claiming them then killing them with the gun then using a dino to eat the corpse
im doing snow owl breeding and rn im combining stats and its taking forever to get ones with all the stats combined so its getting annoying having to kill tons and tons of owl babies

Now that would be nice to know. For me, I breed Acrocanthosaur from Ark:Additions and some Gigas.

im gonna be doing acros and gigas later
im focused on getting a awesome snow owl then gonna do allos and then probably gigas

The only faster way i know of is if you happen to use "Dino Storage v2" mod. (where you have that mod's version of a cryo-fridge auto-trap the babies (both from eggs hatching and live birth) and then you can leave the unwanted ones in it and "destroy all souls" to wipe them all out and just give you the cryo-orbs back. You dont get any exp or materials this way though.)

This^.... or have Awesome teleporters and place one in lava.

i just turned off pve mod which was on for some reason, guess i turned it on when i made the world, and now i can kill them so thanks.
