So i am in a singleplayer/non dedicated host server, and the smithy has way to little storage and the crafting/smelting speed is super slow,
I know there is a setting to change both of these because i have had both increased at some point, i just forget the exact ini file that i put it in and what the actual setting change is

Are you using your smithy to store absolutely everything o.O?
Not sure how to increase the crafting speed in ini, but you could try to find a Smithy mod that has the things you need.

Try Better Smithy.
It has 600 slots and 1.5x speed

i mean 1 thats smithy only i need the forge as well, second, the person im playing with cant install more mods, and im 100% sure you can change it i just forget exactly the settings,

I found the ini if you dont want another mod.
Copy this in gameuser ini.

[StructuresPlus]
SmithySlotCount=600
SmithyCraftingSpeed=10
ForgeCraftingSpeed=50

If you want to configure a mod, try the mod's pages first, especially when they're stickied and written by the author.. it's all here:
