60 GB HD space required?

Why does the store page say the game is a 60GB download but Steam is requiring ~153 GB for ARK installation? Am I doing something wrong? I am just trying to install the base game. Also I can see that I am subscribed/purchased "The Center - Ark Expansion Map" is there any way to stop this expansion from installing to lower the download size? I only have a terrabyte HD and my internet is capped at 400 GB per month thus 153 GB is prohibitive

The download is 29GB approx. It uncompresses itself to about 100GB with no DLC.

To disable all DLC (this should be a known information for anyone that uses Steam) simply right-click your game in the Library -> Properties -> DLC and uncheck / check whichever you want.

The Store page might be misleading, but it wasn't updated since a little before Aberration came out.

It's about 100Gb unpacked. Almost 200 with all DLC. Wildcard don't have time to update the store page, they need to concentrate on more DLC to take more space (I think they must also sell hard drives).

Despite that, you only download about 40Gb though, it is unpacked.

Thanks very much. I actually did not know this. I removed the DLCand saved around 5-10 GB HD space.

The game still wants about 145 GB of my HD space but the download is 26.6 GB so that's fine.
Thanks guys I've got the itch for some ARK and was a bit dismayed.
