Raptors can PIN Direbears?!

You have any idea how weird this looks? Lol!

Has anyone else noticed this? According to the wiki the raptor can knock you OFF a direbear, but not immobilize it. I know right? Wow, the wiki was wrong.

I was out leveling my pre tame 145 bear with a high melee stat, and a pack of 3 raptors knocked me off and killed me (not surprising, I was in ghillie and got triple teamed) but when I got back, they each were taking turns pinning the direbear to the ground while the other 2 chomped on it. It almost got killed but I managed to save it.

When I saw it for the first time I just went poker faced and said wow... seriously? Its like a 12 year old pinning Andre the giant to the ground. I think that needs to be changed, lol.

Honestly, the whole pinning mechanic is screwed, creatures that seem big enough are pinned, mounts that seem large or tall enough will still not protect you from raptors, and the fact you can just sit there for 5 seconds doing nothing but losing health and armor! It would be better if you could at fight back. And who thought it would make sense for a Bear to be pinned by such scrawny creature?

Oh, I can most likely get you a screen shot, lol. It happened on multiple occasions yesterday, I'm sure it would be no problem recreating it tonight after work. It looks so lame xD

Yea, based on the wiki the largest creature the raptor can actually pin/immobilize is a Phiomia, and I'm surprised it could even do given the Phiomia is actually decently sized. Second largest it lists is.... a Moschops.

oh trust me i had a moment where a raptor ended up somehow pinning my karkinos one time when normally it shouldnt happen....however after that 1st time it never happaened to me again so maybe it was just a fluke?

not a fluke, the release of Valguero and the Deinonychus actually bugged the Raptor pounce. It is even possible for it to happen to Diplo's...

To late now but going to throw it out for general know: If you have Nvidia Geforce Experience and your pc can handle Shadowplay Backrecording it's great. Can hotkey to playback your game however many minutes you set it up for.

I think i know what is causing it, when valguero became official WC also added a mechanic that allows a player to dodge a raptor pounce by rolling out of the way. However they made it so that in order to do this it dismounts you... meanwhile if the nearest raptor is in fact pouncing it can catch your mount instead of you pinning it pretty much reguardless of what it is. If WC had just made an exception for the dodge check to be cancelled if the player is mounted we wouldnt be seeing this issue and see normal raptor dismounts.

I do have that, but I've been dragging my feet setting it up since I finished building my PC. I should set some time and just do it.

This can also happen with trikes.. Just dismount in the right moment and watch the raptor wrestling down a whole trike XD

Had my argy pinned the other day :D Was similar to the above, I got pinned, then 1 second later so did the argy.

You can jump to do a roll dodge so the raptor doesn't pounce you. Be sure to bola it quickly afterward.
