It’s a survival game... and you gave it a bad review since your dinos are being killed by other dinos....
Surviving , including keeping your dinos alive, is a core part of the game.
Just play SP, saddle up your dinos and use admin commands to give them infinite stats, and enjoy the boredom of having no challenges in the game.
That said, if you give some more details, like what level you are, what level your dinos are, what type of dinos they are, and what you're doing and where that gets you and them killed... maybe we can offer some more useful advice.
My dinosaur was a parasaur. She was like level five and I am level 19. Whenever I leave my home and go exploring, I and my dinos get killed by wild dinosaurs. Do I just need a stronger dinosaur to travel with like an ankylosaurus? What's the strongest dinosaur that is easy to tame?
My advice, concentrate on making your home secure so you can preserve your rarer resources and a bed to spawn at. Keep taming dinos even if they die, its good experience and good practice. And when you're comfortable with this gameplay loop (tame dinos, lose dinos, tame new dinos) THEN start attempting to change the loop, with dino pens and protectors.
Protectors can be all sorts of other dinos, but at the lower levels raptors are excellent. They require some skill to tame so again be prepared to die a lot until you get the hang of it. Try to watch them from a distance and get one to chase you when its well separated from its pack and then use a bolas to immobilize it while you knock it out.
You dont necessarily need to travel with a dino. A nomadic existence is possible in Ark, but not the easiest way to get by. Consider la permanent home and eaving your dinos there, then its only you that dies.
And remember that death in Ark is a certainty, not a possibility. Its just something you have to get used to rather than letting it frustrate you.
those little dilos that like to spit in your face? Tame a little pack of them; best levels you can get, but not a huge concern because they are expendable cannon fodder. Use them to help guard you and to hunt, but be prepared to lose them. Get a trike when you can. An anky certainly isn't a bad idea if you can get one; good for gathering metal, tough, and strong. Getting a raptor early on is also a good idea, as stated above.
Don't be afraid to do some research too; check the wiki, watch some youtube vids. It's not like Ark is going to give you any guidance in-game.
To make your tames stronger in Singleplayer for example, after you click 'Host/Local' go to the Advanced tab on the left. Scroll down to 'Tamed Dinos Stats Per Level' and set the Health and Damage numbers higher to give your tames more of each. Setting them to 1.0 might be a good start, but you can set it much higher if you want. Do the same for Tamed Dinos Add Per Level and Tamed Dinos Stats Affinity (but not to Wild Dino Stats Per Level) to make your tames much stronger than wild creatures. You'll still probably want to avoid some of the more dangerous creatures (like the Giga), but your tames will have a lot more health to work with and more damage to dish out.
Some of what you're dealing with does come down to a learning curve. Just starting out, not knowing how dangerous something is, not knowing how to deal with certain creatures, you can lose a lot of early tames. Learning the game, and playing long enough to level up and tame stronger creatures will help with this.
Also, if you play Singleplayer or in your own Server, make backups of your save each time you play. There's a trick you can do to recover tames that have died as long as you have a backup save in which they are alive. It involves doing a temporary roll back, uploading the lost creature to the Obelisk, going back to your current progress save and downloading the creature from the Obelisk.
Between all the settings and mods out there, the game is highly customizable, and its more than possible to set up the game to be more casual with less risk of loosing your precious tames. I hope you can find the settings you are looking for. Ark is really fun once you find the play style you prefer.
Play single player and mess with the settings until you get it where you want. You can increase your dinos' health or make the wilds weaker. All kinds of neat stuff.
If you really want to be on multiplayer check out all the unofficial servers there is bound to be one that makes keeping you and your pets alive easier.
If you want to stay on official multiplayer do not go pvp. Pve and until you get the hang of things only tame pets that you know you will hate. Ugly unfun pets or just dodo birds. Practice at keeping them alive. I did this on a beginner server for a long time just kept phiomia because who cares if they die, right? Got a bunch of phiomia and then started growing and keeping Plant Species X using phiomia poops to make compost.
Try the Plant Species X you will really like this. Use a few of them and practice with placement around your base. Get one to lure the bad wilds in and others to help finish it off. Do not place your animals next to them because the agroed wilds will go straight for Plant X so give them some room.
Or join a tribe and be their grunt. Learn to breed pets and let them know you are not the land roaming type. Problem here is you might get in with good people or you might get in with bullies. So be careful who you team up with.
GOOD LUCK and good gaming!

Also people leave him alone about the review. If he wants to give the game a bad review let him. It's not like Ark hasn't got a bad review or two before. That does not decide how good a game does. It's just yack fodder for the bored to look at. What is the worse that can happen? His negative review turns away two people from buying Ark? So what? Oh, no, the game is going bankrupt now!
I think you can change your own review later if you want anyway.
