PC crash when ARK or any battleye game is launched
what I originally thought was a video hardware crash, seems to be caused by the latest version of the nvidia game ready drivers (431.60). Windows had updated them when i did a repair install without me realizing it. When i boot up ARK with the drivers, a black screen with thin red lines appears on screen, and the system grinds to a halt. sometimes the system will automatically reboot, other times i have to power down the system manually. I have a 1060 6Gb, that was working wonderfully with the game. three days ago when the issue first popped up, for whatever reason, ARK went into an uninstalled state, and when I pressed install in steam, it moved 70% of the game files to the ..\steamapps\downloads\346110\ folder, 10% stayed in ..\Steamapps\common\ARK, and the rest (20 Gb) was re-downloaded, which took two and a half days or there about. Now, even after properly upgrading the video driver (through the GeForce Experience app) the game is still showing this black screen when i try and run it. the game was not doing this on the older drivers (425.94). has anyone else experiences issues with the latest driver? Other games appear to still be working fine.

oddly enough.... telling ARK to reset resolution information seems to have solves the issue.....

Scratch that..... just as Ark was about to drop me into the server world, Game suddenl closed down and seconds later i was shown a BSOD saying Page Fault in Non-Paged Area... but no driver or file was listed as the cause.

Did you rollback your driver and test?
Splićo 31. juli 2019 kl. 15.21
using same driver and having same card (msi gtx1060 6gb OC) - no issues.
Did you try to reinstall driver using DDU ?

Using them on my 980Ti with no issues.

I have posted my system specs below. I highly doubt it is an over heat issue. my system is very well ventilated. It took 2 1/2 days too fix becuase of the speed of my internet. I only have 6Mbps download speed where i live. I actually checkedfor HDD problems and did not find any. all games are on a seagate 4tb expansion drive that is left attached to my system 100% of the time. as far as steam and the OS is concerned the files are still residing on C: thanks to a junction i have setup for the files.this setup has worked well for many years.I have just rolled back the video drivers and am about to try again. I have not tried DDU, I just used the 'clean install' option in the driver setup. my system uses DCH type drivers, can DDU handle those?

i was finally able to analyze the crash dump made. the BSOD is appearently being caused by a file named bedaisy.sys along with ntorkrnl.exe

dump analysis readout is below

Crash dump directories:
C:\WINDOWS
C:\WINDOWS\Minidump

On Wed 7/31/2019 4:08:06 PM your computer crashed or a problem was reported
crash dump file: C:\WINDOWS\MEMORY.DMP
This was probably caused by the following module: bedaisy.sys (BEDaisy+0x27963B)
Bugcheck code: 0x50 (0xFFFFF8058F8919D0, 0x10, 0xFFFFF8058F8919D0, 0x2)
Error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Bug check description: This indicates that invalid system memory has been referenced.
This appears to be a typical software driver bug and is not likely to be caused by a hardware problem.
A third party driver was identified as the probable root cause of this system error. It is suggested you look for an update for the following driver: bedaisy.sys .
Google query: bedaisy.sys PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

just checked the other game I have which uses this battle eye thing, and it also BSOD'd on me when i tried to load it up. So, I'm guessing this battleye is the culprit.... the question is, why?
Chris Solomon 31. juli 2019 kl. 17.37
there are no system shutdowns, just the system grinding to a halt and rebooting during the BSOD.
Chris Solomon 31. juli 2019 kl. 17.38
i could try running ARK without BE, but i would only be able to access non-official servers. for the sake of testing, i will try it tho.
Chris Solomon 31. juli 2019 kl. 17.42
you mean C:\? No, I can't.... drive is only 256Gb's to begin with.... I can try putting it on D:\ where my other batleye game is, but that one is not working atm either
Chris Solomon 31. juli 2019 kl. 18.10
ummm.... I'm not sure.... If it's part of ARK, then it's with all the other ARK files. I don't know if there is a copy some where in C:\windows or not.

Have you tried reinstalling BE and how did the non-BE test go?
i did try reinstalling BE. but the error still occurs. as for the test with out BE, it went fine. up until i tried to connect to an official server which immediatly caused a bedaisy.sys related bsod

I`m getting a Kernal Security Check Failure error after a windows update, played the game just fine last night with no issues, and then when trying to load up game it hits me with that blue screen and error message. Also getting the ARK uninstalling itself thing.

i just did some checking, and during the repair install i did recently, windows setup turned on HVCI, IOMMU, ,Hypervisor, Device Guard, and Credential Guard. I am turning credential guard and device guard back off and seeing if it makes a difference
