Can Someone PLEASE Explain Ascension...?

I have watched vids and read what I could find so far on what happens after you beat the Overseer in the Tek Cave but I cannot seem to find the answer.

Some of what I read says you lose ALL items and tames, while others say you olny lose your tames.

Some say you are wiped back to lvl one, others say you continue on from the lvl you were.

Now I don't know what info is correct and up to date and therefore do not know what to believe. I would really like to know this before attempting to take on the Overseer.

Also, I am playing Single Player on The Island, so I do not know if that makes any difference. I just would really like to know what EXACTLY happens after you defeat the Overseer and is it better to wait and do the Alpha or start with Gamma and work my way up.

you lose the tames you brought with you

you keep the items (i recommend taking off armor as it gets deleted when on the player sometimes

you keep your level and whatever accension you do raises your max level (alpha 15 +, beta 10+ gamma 5+)

the exact aftermatch is a cutsceen where you are then kicked back to the main menu where you can select the current map you were on (the island) or start scorched earth with the same character (story line)

Ok, so take off my armour and just have it in my inventory... If I were to go on to SE could I upload some dinos beforehand so I can d/l them on SE?, but you can't take any items across maps can you..?

So in order to unlock all the Tek Engrams it would be best to do it on Alpha, yes?

For a terrible modder (LOL), you explained it well.

Panther, Each Boss Fight nets you items you'll need plus they unlock things.
For instance if you skip right to the Gamma Dragon, once defeated you'll unlock all the Tech Items to craft and use. They need to be unlocked for you to even use a Tech Item. Your tribemate can't build a tech transmitter and you be able to use it unless you've unlocked it.
Mind you, my info is a couple years old and the last DLC may have changed this.

Transferring Dinos and Items all depends on the server settings.
Some servers allow Survivor, Dino & Item transfers while others like the Official Servers do not.
Then there are Cluster Servers which are a group of servers that are connected and each has a different map. More often than not, You can only transfer within that cluster. No downloads from outside.

Thanks for all that, but as I said I am playing Single Player, all by myself, no tribe or server. Just me and my PC :)

Since you are playing SP, install the dino storage mod, it basically gives you cryo pods that are way better and you can pod all of your dinos at the end of the fight so you wont lose them.

That one and I beleve another is a Pokeball mod. Both are fantastic.
You can upload & download freely as long as you've got that set in the GameUserSettings.ini file.
There is a max number you can upload though. Oh, and you can upload and download through Beacons as well. So if your home base is Herbo Island (south east corner of the map), there's a beacon just up the hill from the cove.

If you're using s+ .... turning every last item of good equips you have, into bluprints.

Never worry about losing them anywhere ever ever again.

S+ doesn't have that feature, you can only use the converter for structures. Upgrade station can do that though. That mod is a bit OP how ever.

There are two supply drops that appear very close to my base but I didn't know you could "use" them in any way.. What needs to be in the game user setting..?

I didn't know I could do that. So if I have an upgraded saddle I can make a BP for it? Nice..

I DO have a mod that adds an upgrade station, that's how I upgraded my saddles etc.

Yes indeedilly doodly it does.

S+ Blueprint Bench.... wich is supposed to only do structures... will BP all and sundry.

So... Up your crafting skill.... Ramshackle flak boots... turn to BP.... craft it... get crafting bonus.... turn to bp... rince and repeat.

You end up with max stats at minimum cost.

Is that some sort of setting or recent bug because i've definatly tried it and it didn't work.

There should be two add on's for it, one is a blueprint maker and the other is for augments. The blueprint maker is self explainatory, the augments one augments the stats of items like for a saddle you can use armor augments to increase the armor value on the saddle, there is damage for weapons, durability for both armor and weapons, there is also some for hyper/hypo stats and water usage.

@ Vesuvius, I am already at lvl 105, can't get any higher unless I do the Tek cave/Overseer. That's why I am asking about all this :)
