Wi-Fi Speed
How fast should my Wi-Fi speed be for this game?
(Download speed)

The only time my bandwidth limited my game performance was when attempting to raid in 10 men groups on World of Warcraft on very low end DSL. Very few games truly utilize download speed.

Anything at ~1Mbps should be enough for Ark off the top of my head. It's not a high load.

Ark is not so much about speed as latency. A 100Mbps d/l rate is pretty much useless if your ping is ~140.

You eliminate ping by connecting to your router via cable to eliminate interference (which can induce high latency), play on servers that are geographically closer and are not highly populated.

Tunneling is also an option although I have not done that for decades.

Don't listen to him OP, 140 millisecond latency is perfectly acceptable for even first person shooters with even the most basic latency correction (mastered in the Halo 2 era).

I think you'll find that he means that wether you have 12mb d/l or 100 will make no difference if your ping is >~140ms .... not that that makes it an issue playing.

Sigh. I guess I could have said 141 or 225 or any other number other than 140.

Please note the tilde next time..... :steamfacepalm:

(ED: Not even sure why you're suggesting "tunnelling" as an option for OP when he asked about "speed" anyway...)
Because OP was erroneous in his estimation of the issue at hand, and tunneling would help the real issue.

Not really sure what difference would arise were the number slightly changed. The point was that speeds below 200ish are fine.
