For Regular kibble perhaps Ankys and Carbos seems to lay regularily. Or skip that entirely and tame a large flock of Argys for Superior kibble. I typically have 3-4 Argys on singleplayer for carrying metal, crystal, and obsidian from mountains, 3 of the them are females and I get eggs at a fairly good rate.
I would skip Exceptional kibble tames and go straight for mass Yutyrannus taming. I have 5 egg laying Yutys dedicated to kibble and they lay pretty often. Once you get them you don't need your other egg layers, as, in case you didn't know, each tier of kibble will tame creatures in its own tier as well as all the tiers below it, ie, Regular kibble will tame dinos in Simple and Basic tier.
Remember basic kibble does not require advanced crops or ingredients, so is simpler to make in bulk.
Higher tier kibble is great, but i advise you to tame rexs rather than yutys as:
A. Rexes are easier to find and tame in every biome than Yutys.
B. Exceptional tier kibble is easier to make than Extraordinary as again it does not require advanced crops or honey, which is harder to get in quantity than rare flower.
The side benefit is that to get to endgame, you need a fleet of rexes anyway.
Easy to read kibble list of creatures per tier, based off my opinion and experience. Based off The Island gameplay.
Basic: Dodo (hands down fastest egg layer)
Simple: Raptor (easier tame) or Trike (seems to lay eggs more often)
Regular: Anky or Turtle (easier to tame) or Terror Bird (seemed to lay eggs very fast in past experiences)
Superior: Argentavis (seems to lay fairly quickly)
Exceptional: Rex (easier/quicker tame) or Therizino (might be slightly faster than Rex?)
Extraordinary: Yutyrannus (easiest tame in this tier and fairly fast egg laying)
i'm sure this is going to be rebalanced by wildcard soon though...
If you can get a hive for a stable supply of honey, and of course have a few Yuuty for a steady supply of eggs, Extraordinary is the only one of the top three that you won't have to leave your base for anything but meat to make.
I've heard that rare mushrooms and flowers are intended to actually be rare but whatever map I'm on I can't help but tripping over huge piles of both. I believe you get the flowers from mining Crystal and the mushrooms from beaver dams? Either way I always have ample Supply.
Haven't decided what to go for on the next tier up.
Then they introduced breeding and kibble and you needed them for some of the kibbles and some of the new dinos, so they made them less rare, quite common in fact, by making them readily available when harvesting swamp reeds and trees. That was balanced somewhat by the swamp being so dangerous and, eventually, led to the once per level restriction on mindwipes.
Opposite, Mushrooms from crystals, flowers in beaver dams.
It's not worth the effort to harvest crystal or mountain plants for mushrooms and flowers, you won't get enough. Consider those to be bonuses if you're harvesting the resources for other reasons.
Can use that kibble or a better,in my case use sometimes old kibbles from the old system
