We are both using the latest drivers available yes.
Wrong. They're the same. Same res scale and mesh detail is maxed out and it still looks grainy and awful.
This is not a matter of pride so i don't know why you'd even say something as dumb as that.
I've obviously tried running it on lower graphics but NEWS FLASH!
It looked even worse. The point is that the game looks absolutely horrenduous for some reason while someone with a worse (but not bad) pc has the game running stunningly but i can't seem to make it look nearly as good.
Let's see if Steam isn't using you iGPU for fun. Your 9700k has a UHD 630 iGPU - so its bound to look like crap on that, but will run solely because the 9700k and your Ram can probably handle ARK just fine on its own.
I'm running the same GPU but with a 7700K, and I can easily run it at 1440p with max settings.
I'm suspecting it might be a visual glitch in the settings. Try changing all settings to low and then to max again, especially resolution scale.

It does run everything at max and at 90+ fps easily (Depending on where i am on the map) but it just looks horrible. 'll try switching everything to low and back to max including the scale once i've time.
many 1080ps and 4k TVs dont perform well as monitors.
According to his Steam hardware, it's a 27" 144hz monitor.
Worst case scenario you got a an unlucky roll with a 2080ti/Ark combo....
That's possible but every other game has fun absolutely flawlessly and while i get plenty of fps in ark with everything maxed it just doesnt look good which is just so disappointing.
