Is Primal Fear good for Single Player?

I wanted to get primal fear for single player, but after seeing how over powered some dinos are I was wondering if it was worth it. For example the lightning Griffin does over 3k of damage, and it’s not even the highest tier of dinos

I have many times, from its release to now and in its current state it's more hostile then ever. Now you can make it easier on yourself by adjusting your ini settings to make your game play work best for you but be warned there are Lower tier bosses (Primals and Celestials) that roam around and can kill you with ease if your not ready for it.

I like Primal Fear, but i feel the modders are not really engaged as much anymore. I switched to playing with Pyria as the Modder for that is very active and updates often.

Overpowered is a relative term. There is a clear progression where you can get as strong then eventually stronger than pretty much everything you run into.
So very little is actually "overpowered" it is quite well balanced.
Outside of a few outliers that I reported several times and was basically told to go F myself. Alpha/apex phoenix are worlds stronger than any other dino same tier and stronger than most dinos a tier above just to name one such creature but overall the gameplay and progression is amazing solo and with a small group.
Though more than 3 people and you might find it too easy. Likewise solo you'll find it quite difficult early game getting started.
Lategame however is just like normal ark really, you tame a lot of creatures and get them ready for a big battle. Don't attempt any of the bosses with just a single dino and always have backups and backups for your backups for if you get wiped.
Also depending on if you start the game with the boss expansion or add it later your experience may vary. I highly recommend not adding the boss expansion until you've gotten a safe base set up because it makes the early game hell.

Beware of dodos. If the dodo has smoke coming off of it you don't go near it and you don't let any tame you care about go near it either.
