Unofficial Servers and Clusters.
Hey guys, I was thinking on playing on an Unofficial server, but I notice that Ark doesnt have any ranking system.

Any idea of which clusters or servers are really good to play, with great RP and community and not many "Columns" marking the someones territory.

By the way, how do they keep clusters of servers running, from what i heard a single server can get expensive...

Go to battlemetrics.com ... there you can see a servers uptime... player count... etc...
.... thats a good indicator of its longevity.

Quite a few clusters are run by privately owned hardware... making the "cost", power usage and time. Renting a cluster can certainly get expensive as few hosts give you discounts if you rent more servers.

Not really. I host my server from the first week of ARK saw this world and I changed about 6 IP addresses for these years so I dont have 4 years rated server on those site but my servers are always online :)

Can you have your own cluster with your own hardware?

Maybe I should build up a computer with server stuff and have my own cluster... With some rules... And so on...

Yes. It is doable, but if you're thinking about making a "several maps" clustered server, you'll have to think about using a dedicated machine for that (as in - another PC and not the one you game on).

You can "easily" configure a cluster with ASM as far as I know. I used to host a 2 map cluster on my machine for my gf and I and did it with .batch files, but that requires a little more "knowledge" to achieve.

There's a few tutorials or articles on how to's either on the Wiki or through Youtube / Reddit.
