.... thats a good indicator of its longevity.
Quite a few clusters are run by privately owned hardware... making the "cost", power usage and time. Renting a cluster can certainly get expensive as few hosts give you discounts if you rent more servers.
Maybe I should build up a computer with server stuff and have my own cluster... With some rules... And so on...
Yes. It is doable, but if you're thinking about making a "several maps" clustered server, you'll have to think about using a dedicated machine for that (as in - another PC and not the one you game on).
You can "easily" configure a cluster with ASM as far as I know. I used to host a 2 map cluster on my machine for my gf and I and did it with .batch files, but that requires a little more "knowledge" to achieve.
There's a few tutorials or articles on how to's either on the Wiki or through Youtube / Reddit.
