Work of months destroyed, all walls gone , animals and roofs in the sky /air...

tonight something happened, which del3eted all walls exept wooden ones just disappeared. some hundred hours work away now. - i had about 20 pens,-- may be more. -- i dunno why,- nothing changed... the strange thing is that my beginner buildings ( i dont use them since months...They are okj 11111111111111
THIS MARATHON JOB TO REBUILD some more months, i cant do
. so thats is it i have to leave ark.
i really dont want to loose my work again.......by start at ragnarok or such.. cant trust ark any longer time
But maybe someone knows a way get my buildings back
i am in soloplayer mode the island..
i will miss ark, and will miss the nice comunity here, which always helped me here in the discussion. thank you all for ur nice help...
and may be someone knows a trick to get my game back....

What mods are you using? Sounds like a building mod had an update , and you logged in before the update was completed.

This seems like a likely cause.

Regardless, you can try to rollback to a previous save. You might loose some hours or a day of work, but that's it.

I'm going to suggest googling that and finding a step-by-step guide you can read/review or watch, rather than me trying to type out instructions here and risk having something be unclear or me missing a step.

had this happen many times and I wish wildcard would make that notification that updates or mods are installing bigger. It´s so easy to oversee.

yes i have building mods, and before i logged in today there was an update/download from mod/ workshop AND an normal Ark-download.......think there was somthing gouing wrong. to loose my lastt pen which i biult tonight would be hard, but would be worth it, so no prob..l.
unfortunately pc is like an UFO for me, i am a non technicel-understanding woman:( and my english is very poor, -i am german-
so i am afraid that i will not be able to make a rollback,
but i will try to find something at google.... (i did not even understand how to make a save of the game some months earlier --im really a noob in technics :(
but will try my very best

S+ had an update. Always look at your subscribed mods, or if ARK had a Workshop update, if it did, log into ARK and watch the bottom right corner for any mods being installed.

Your solution: find an older autosave in your ARK folder and rename it to replace your current "destroyed" save.

can you imagine-- tonight i made a new biggggg hyaenodon pen, and needed 2 hours for get 1 of the silly hyaeno into with the head to me. becs i dislike always see their backs
. i had to box hin over 2 hours,- it was a bloody job, the other 25 fresh mated hyaenos were a bit better , but needed all in all over 3 hours -just for bring them inside lol........ now pen broken, hyaenodons in the air...........hmmm

I feel your pain, but such is the nature of the beast with building mods such as S+.

Always make sure your mods have time to completely install. That means, not only allow for Steam to download them, but for them to be installed in your game as well (lower right corner in the main menu).

Now, as I said - load a previous save file (usually in your saved folder of your ARK installation folder - where ever that might be). ARK usually makes several saves as you play, with a date / time stamp on the save's name. Simply find the last before the update and rename it to replace the main file (ie: Ragnarok_2019_06_26_2311.bak or whatever format - to Ragnarok.ark or whatever format - I'd be more precise, but I have no SP games on my new PC yet).

You might lose some progress, but at least most of your buildings should be there still.

If not - welcome the grind, fight through it, be molded by it - OWN IT! Only then will you become... someone else who's frustrated by ARK! MWHAHAHAHA

in the ark folder lacal datas,- at steam there is just 1 save, it is after the lost buildings...i restarted game after rename the save..-- same all lost.- then i tried get older version, then pc says me that there is no older version... i tested, saw, that 38 buildings gone, and all my horses lost too.
so the only save i found had the name CFD_Theislands, and its made 20 minutes before now

ah no.--- all buildings are gone. only the castle and the beginner base stands there still, lost about 120 horses.-- other animals i dunno ..some stables have still animals in the air.. but dunno they all or just some of them
and my beginner base is 2 years old about, there i had no idear how to make it pretty and bigger, i dont use them longer it was a rookie base...

Du kannst zwar kein vorheriges Safe mehr finden, so wie ich das herausgelesen habe, allerdings kannst du dir dein verlorenes Zeug ersetzen mit den richtigen Commands.

Das ist kein Cheaten, da du es vorher ja ehrlich erspielt hast.
Ich habe das immer so gemacht, wenn mir sowas passiert ist.

Du kannst über diesen Guide nicht direkt s+ Teile einfügen, aber du kannst diesen S+ Converter Tisch bauen und damit die eingefügten Teile in null-komma-nix auf s+ switchen.

S+ updated last night. SP don't watch the bottom right for the mod install messages. It's not the mods fault it's to operator.

As always make redundant backups of your save files everytime you play.

Nachdem ich es gepostet hatte dachte ich mir auch "warum hab ich nicht das von s+ gepostet"

na ja, die gebäude die nun verloren hab sind alle mit cmi gebaut und trotzdem hab dazu monate gebraucht. alle foundations auch weg, da sehr grosse höhenunterschiede, hab oft allein für all die foundations setzen für ein gebäude schon im schnitt ein paar stunden gebraucht, bis mal zum bauen anfangren konnte. dann wenn ich wieder tag und nacht so ne ochsentour mach für alle 38 gebäude-- ,dann kannst mich einliefern., das ganze ist ja gewachsen, ich hatt ja imme ne fertige basis,- nun steh ich vor trümmern, wo immer ich hinseh.- so schön ist das bauen nicht, habs nur durchgehalten, damit es swchön wird. wie soll ich das je wieder rekonstruieren, was und wie ich das gemacht hab? die foundations an der klippe für die 2 bronto häuser allein haben mich ca. 3 wochen beschäftigt, weil bei jedem fehl-snap wieder alle andern zusammengestürzt sind.-- also wieder von vorn anfangen.
abgesehen davon, wenn nun bis mindestens weihnachten versuche, irgendwie aus den trümmern was basteln,-- wann verlier ich dann wieder alles????????????????

patsourki, ty for ur post, but i dont see any data like the one u posted before no one with bak at end, not even at my pc steam ordner/ folder? i now looked at my pc data (D) steam / steam / backups.
found a backup from ark from 17.1.2019, but dunno how to start it.
if i open it, the normal game with destroyed buildings opens.-- so it cant be from january, becs. at that time i still did not yet build my hyaenodon pen and so on.
