Where do I find leeches?

In the swamp but where in the swamp? Im wandering around in the swamp with my raft only to get jumped by those creepy alligators. I nearly pooped my pants.

They are generally stuck on your chest when you find them

Before that, the swamp is a good place. On the Island map, I would go to where the redwoods end on the east side of the redwoods. There is a Y in the river there. Take the river to the SW, not the East branch, not the West branch. It leads into the swamp, right at the beginning of the swamp, plenty of leeches, I think mainly at night is when you find them. If I remember right, a Carno or Spino is good for killing them.

Easiest way to farm leech blood is with a tall dino like a rex; just chomp on everything clear the trees down for half a mile and you'll get a few hundred leeches along the way. Kapros can't reach you and most of the time barys can't stun you but if they do you dismount safe atop the rex.

I find them in the swamp, but the problem with leeches on The Island is that there arent very many that spawn on the surface and they are very hard to see with the swamp trees and lily-pads everywhere in the water.

So the best place to really find them reliably and get lots of leech blood (which I assume is why you are trying to find them) is to go into the Swamp cave.(artifact cave on the swamp side of the redwoods) There are rooms in that cave that have pools of water that are *always* full of leeches. More leeches than you could possibly need.
