View distance higher on non-dedicated server?
I entered to play with some friends to a non dedicated server and realized that I have a higher view distance on the non dedicated server that i created see picture below:

And here is the same base etc but loaded on singleplayer

See that the number of bushes on the building and the yellow curtain like thing appear on the non dedicated but not on the singleplayer?

How could this happen?

Singleplayer has a setting which puts anything into hibernation, not statis, but hibernation when you are not nearby. Might be it also lowers viewing distance regardless of your setting.

What do you mean by that, please explain further, my friend in the non dedicated server doesn't see that much of distance as I do.

That hibernation setting i did not see it is like something on the game coding that you can not change?

The hibernation setting basically freezes the entire map except for where you are. This means for example if you move away from your base and had a dino growing there, their growth will stop until you return, same with an animal out in the wild, it will be frozen in place until you return to that spot. However from my own experience in single player, it also reduces your render/view distance.

The reason is that it saves a lot of memory usage and makes your game run smoother.

However how it funtions normally on for example a dedicated server is stasis, stasis simple derenders stuff beyond your view distance, but technically they are still there and moving about/doing actions/growing.

The hibernation setting you can change, however you need to do this by going to ARk in you steam library, rightclick it, go to Properties. Then select launch options and enter the command

Servers are definitely capable of controlling the graphics on clients logged into them. They are allowed to force DirectX modes, and possibly other things. It could be that.

Hi Veeshan again :D

Well Charcharodonto but when i tamed something and went far away the taming process still went up so it didnt go in hibernation, also if i leave a place and return the dinos are not in the same place they were, they move so your idea may be wrong? Where did you get that info from? from you testing or is it official, i wanna know :D

But can you explain me why do i see things like the yellow metal things hanging from the ceiling and in single player i dont? I get all you said before but why i see things from very far away on the non dedicated server and on single player i dont see that far away even on epic settings

Dinos don't move when you return after some time? My dinos don't move. You may have hibernation turned off. Taming always works, it's likely a special system. I've noticed that babies feed properly; they die once you come back in range if yoiu've left them too long but when they are just born (not claimed yet) they wait until you arrive to "be born."

Oh I get ya. Hit 1200 recently and still haven't "beaten" the first map. They're releasing the fifth map soon... And that's only official maps... there are three other "officially unofficial" maps beyond that!@!
