Rockwell Boss Single Player, Any Tips or Advice..?

I have the 3 artefacts, finally, so I am deciding on what dinos to take to the Gamma fight, and for the Beta and Alpha later. I have watched a couple of youtube vids but am after some tips or advice on what dinos to bring for a solo run...

Actual single player, or a lone player on a dedicated server/official? There are differences in difficulties between the two.

The tentacles shock... Try to kill them with ranged weapons and dont get too close.
Take a pack of dinos and leave them near the start. Use them to deal with the reapers/nameless as they spawn.

Also when Rockwells heart opens up send them in to attack it.

If you are playing vanilla then Megalosaurus for your army. Drake for your mount. And use high level shotguns.

If you have the S+ transmitter it opens up your army choice a bit. If so i'd go Megaloceros as your mount and Theri's for the army.

I have both but will want to breed them up a bit tho.

What do you mean by vanilla?, I mean I do have mods but what exactly are you referring too please? I do a few Megalosaurus and a decent rock drake. I know that the tentacles shock, I saw that in the vids..

Just stick with Drake as mount. A special Boss Drake would be helpful, high Stamina and health, it is not fighting anything, just avoiding so you can shoot with highest shotgun you have. So bring 400 plus rounds, 2 or 3 sets of flak and med brews. Megalosaurus for eating the heart and sometimes I have a 3 or 4 follow me to distract the mobs. Megalos should have around 18k health with 930 melee, higher the better of course.

Doesn't matter if you are playing singleplayer, official, unofficial, this strategy is very effective. Avoid the lightning tentacles as much as possible, avoid the balls, shoot them if possible. The balls destroy armor and kill you, tentacles dismount you and stun your Drake.

Will keep all that in mind, thankyou.. So I need to start breeding Megalosaurus and a better Rock Drake :) I used a bunch of Baryonyx I bred up for the other boss fights, would they be any good for this one? I saw from the vids it's a very different fight..

Megalosaurus are immune to radiation so can be brought down to the redzone portal to Rockwell.

Theri's if using the transmitter though as the radiation isnt an issue then. Theri's can be loaded with cakes.

Bary? As I said you need to avoid melee. The tentacles will shock you off of it and then the nameless and reapers will ♥♥♥♥ you up. You need to take the tentacles at range and kite the minions back to your army.

Well yeah, will probably use the transmitter as it's much easier, so you say Theris are better than megalo to take with me.... ok.

As for the Barys, I didn't mean I would be riding one, just that I used them to kill the previous bosses on the island and SE as they are level 450 and quite good :) I just wasn't sure if they could be good for this or not..

I do have some Megalosaurus but I guess I can get my Theri's from the island and breed them up instead.

Theri's are awesome because of the cake benefit. They don't rely on a daedon for healing like a Bary would. But hey if they are 450 Bary's they will probably be pretty good against the Gamma.

I have never used cakes for that, so I didn't know. Never used a daedon in the boss fights either. I was on a yuti with 16 Barys against the Alpha bosses so far and never lost one.

Ok, so go get my Theris from on the island and start breeding :)

If you survived against the dragon you will be fine.

Yeah it went well, first attempt with Rexs went real bad, lost them all with the gamma dragon. So after that I only used Barys..

The meta for the dragon has changed a few times. A lot of the videos on youtube are using tactics that I don't think really work anymore.

Yeah thats why I used rexs the first time cuz most of what I read said to use them but they are too big and slow, and I found them useless. The barys are smaller and faster and deal a load of damage and can get in under it's head and avoid the fire.

Yeah, that too :) I just realised, I have never used a transmitter to do a boss fight before, I usually go to an Obi and am returned there after the fight. Does the same happen with a transmitter, will I be returned to that afterwards as well..?

Yup. Functions just like an Obelisk/Loot drop in that regard.
