S+ and dedicated storages
i like playing vanilla without mods unless they are used to fix bugs or really annoying game design (titan food remover fix for extinction titans because they are meant to be permanent in SP but a bug reenabled the food),(dino tracker specifically to be able to actually be able to find and fight/tame the phoneix or dodorex because having only 8 minutes or less to search the entire map and fight/ tame said creature is complete bull),(corpse retriever because my corpse kept dropping under the map). so i didnt want to add anything that added unfair features like mutators, etc but i noticed that basically everyone playing SP has S+ so i decided "you know what? heck with it, everyone else is using it, i might as well to" BUT when i installed it, all my double doors and most importantly my dedicated storages became SP ones and i am afraid that if i ever remove the mod, my door and my strorages with everything in them will be deleted

SO would my dedicated storages and their items actually get deleted if i remove the mod or will they just turn normal? does anyone here know?

also how do i use S+ dedicated storages? i can no long access their inventory like i could with the regular ones.

For #1 the answer is yes, if you remove the mod, the S+ structures will go too, including the S+ dedicated storage.

For #2, you dont access the inventory directly. After using the option wheel to set the resource type, you just hit E to "deposit" everything of that resource type in your inventory or the option wheel's "withdraw" to remove resources from them. "Consolidate" resource option lets you grab all resources of that type from any container or dino in range and deposit it all at once.(saving you from having to run it all by hand from dino to storage in your character's inventory.)

The item transfer device is super useful for the same reason where it is a resource mover so that you dont have to move all the resources around manually from storage to crafting station or dino or whatever. (i use the presets to save certain moves that I do a lot of, like dumping off metal from my anky and or argy into the forge. A different preset to move the metal ingots from the forge to the smithy or wherever you stockpile them. When i have a big farm, ill make one preset that pulls all the berries and adv crops into my inventory, or into a certain named fridge, or the feeding trough, etc.

They are mainly just quality of life things, that lessen some of the menial grunt-work but don't actually give you an advantage. But there are some S+ items you might see as a bit "cheaty", just don't use those if you don't want to.

There is a bench in s+ that converts s+ items to/from vanilla.

it says it cant convert S+ items to homestead update items (dedicated storage, stairs, double doors, etc)

i wonder if i can just disable the S+ versions of the homestead update items because i honestly like some of the homestead items better (i like the ablility to be able to access the inventory of the dedicated storages and not being forced to hold E and use the options wheel to draw single stacks out at a time)

You need to turn off homestead

You never need to access dedicated storage, use the pull functions

i just tested it with my aberration save which didnt have homestead or S+ stuff, any homestead item that becomes a S+ item when the mod is installed will become homestead again with all the stuff it contained when the mod is removed

Yup this is what happens. Its because the assets have the same name. WC stuffed up when integrating S+. When the server loads it seeks a match for the asset name and returns the first match it finds.

It is a 100% known issue and has been known about for months. The standard recommendation for S+ mod users is to disable the integrated homestead items to prevent conversions and conflicts.
