Ragnarok: Wyvern egg spawn cycling.
After testing this for a few days on an unofficial, I've got a few questions for multiplayer egg cycling. How often do wyverns lay, and does the area need to be out of render range for them to do it? Will eggs spawn if there's already eggs in the cave - do all nests need to be empty in order to despawn, or respawn eggs? Do wyverns naturally despawn within the cave outside of server downtime, or do they need to be manually cycled? How many eggs can be naturally present within the cave at one time?

Yes you should be out of render for them to respawn.
New eggs will spawn but you have to be out of render.
All nests do not need to empty. (Note: Eat the eggs you do not want. Do not drop them on the ground or this can cause future eggs to not spawn)
Not entirely sure but it's easier to just clear the wyverns out and hope for high level ones to spawn and lay new eggs. Could also console command destroywilddinos.
The only limiting factor to the number of eggs is the number of spawn points and how recently they were picked up by players/laid by wyverns.

Bump. There's not a lot of info on this topic online, at least that I've found so far.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Excellent, thank you very much for the info. This server's egg rotation seems a bit strange (2+ hours with no egg spawns after somewhat inconsistent respawns all day), so I was curious as to whether it might be abnormal or not. The wyvern aggro on players who've collected eggs is odd as well (not resetting until the player dies, regardless of time, distance, or render state).

That wyvern aggro sounds pretty normal. Even if you de-render the wyvern and come back it may still chase you. You can either kill it or fly it away from the trench until it drops aggro heads to 50,50.

I've been using the wyvern cave on the south side of the map rather than the trench; I actually only found out the trench exists a short time before your reply, and I've just had a look up there. It may just be the cave that's buggy. Plenty of eggs in the trench, but despite being packed with wyverns the cave is empty.

I've discovered as well that suiciding will reset any persistent wyvern aggro, which can help with spawn cycling if they're reluctant to lay. The persistent aggro is useful if you're clearing an area of wyverns, just a bit strange to have a wyvern that didn't see you take the egg aggro from just inside render range ten minutes later :S
