Best ways to tame ravagers?
Right now I've tried just using bola + club but of course, it doesn't work. Should I be using tranq arrows? Multiple bolas? Should I wait until later in the game to get ravagers?

Tranq arrow are ok. Darts are better. Make a trap. Not sure on this but I wouldn't use doorframes because they might be able to get through probably walls with a window.

I build a box with door frames for walls. I've only ever had raptors get through though. Ramps on 3 walls and a Dino gate for the fourth.

Got a friend to use as a distraction?

Last time i tried to use a club to tame anything it was a parasaur and after i bola'd the thing I beat it in the face with the club until the damn thing broke. The bola broke a second later and the thing ran off.

Use tranq arrows. :D

Still, probably better than slingshot :-)

Honestly, you can use bolas and bats with ravagers, but its just risky. I just tamed a lvl 104 raptor with just using 3 bats and 3 bolas.

You just aren't man enough and obviously skipped Arm Day! NEVER SKIP ARM DAY! All levels into melee every level every time! Then you be a real man and go club a T-Rex into submission like a man!

Tranq darts and a bola is also acceptable as is a Stone Ramp Trap to catch them.

Well, you see, I didn't know what melee damage meant. I believed it was just for fists, so I ignored it. Same with fortitude. I'm now level 60 with little to no fortitude or melee damage. Probably why I was passing out so easily from scorpions.

Also, I actually managed to tame a ravager with tranq arrows and a bola, but a dire bear outside my base was angered... somehow? Cause he randomly started attacking my base and killed my ravager not minutes after I got it.

Welcome to Ark lol! Can't tell you how many dinosaur I've lost just minutes after taming them.

It will be a tragic day when I lose my Birb Light (Featherlight) that I perfect tamed on day 1 of Aberration at level 150. It has survived all of Ab and currently Extinction.

I've got a level 250 bulbdog (Yes, really 250) and so far I've just kept it in my base but soon I'll need to go to where the nameless are to stock up on metal so I'll need to take him along. Cant risk it though so im gonna look for people to join a tribe so at least then I don't get ambushed and die by myself with no way of getting back and losing the bulbdog.

Tamed? Tamed+skilled? Breed+skilled?Muta-Breed?
250 says nothing. 250 can be very crap. Why you didnt breed it and take the descendants?

Neverever take good tames with you if you can lose the whole range of stats.

Honestly i just found a level 150 in the wild and from the tame bonus and just over time it got to 250. I'll take your advice and breed him with another higher level bulbdog I find and take the descendant with me to not lose the original.

Also, I haven't gone to the nameless place yet. I found some metal rocks while going back to base after I realised that where I was going was really lategame and id need much more time and resources to travel there.

Also, quick question, what gear do you recommend for going to the place with the nameless? Right now im thinking of getting flak armour and some guns and of course the to-be bred bulbdog before attempting to go there. Maybe a few tribe members too.

Dont the nameless spawn in large groups of 3 or more or something? I physically couldnt wind up a bola throw for each of them and live since another group would spawn too.
