What are good stats for a rex?

I'm playing on official where the max lvl for a regular rex is 150 and tek rex 180. I was just wondering what's a good melee (Pre tame) and good health (pre tame). I knocked a 180 rex down some moments ago and the stats are 7040 health and 245% melee. Are these good stats or should i keep trying to tame rexes until i find a good one?

Post tame, at least 10 K health and 400% mel.
The rex you've found is pretty good in HP but has a bad potential in mel.

Oh you were asking pretame my bad. My numbers were post. Pretame doesn't matter since the points it gains are distributed randomly post tame.

Pretame does matter, a rex with 8k hp pretame has a better chance of reaching 9k hp posttame then a rex with 6k hp.

The bonus stats from taming are randomly distributed yes, but the stats it has beforehand are kept. The bonus statsd are added on top of those.

Also the odds are the highest stat will get the best buff after tame.

After 12 mutations in melee (24 points)... our tek rex are at 700%+ after imprint, no points added.

For an 8k hp wild Rex it requires to Put 31 of its 149 Level ups in health. Average is 21. Prepare to hunt alot of max Level rexes and still be disappointed. Just a warning.
I once calculated the statistical Chance for a 150 wild Rex with 10k health. Whopping 0.2% ... Happy hunting ^^
PS: for melee aim for over 300. Better 350

Yeah, for bossfight breeding you are looking for lopsided dinos with uneven stat distribution. And you don't *really* know what you have until post-tame. If you get super-lucky, you may find a high health in one and a high melee in an opposite gender and just breed them together, and go for mutations after, if you have the time. More often than not though, the stats are relatively balanced in distribution and only have slightly higher stats in one or two areas. Like Greyhen said, if you really want awesome stats, be prepared to spend a LOT of time hunting and taming just to see what you get, with a lot of disappointment.

After i tamed the 180 rex it came out with 9900 hp and 357% melee as well as 2058 stam, is this good and worth breeding?

Depends on your expectations, it's very personnal.
If it was for me i would say, hP are good but a bit too short for such a high level. Same goes for stam: pretty good but not what i'm expecting for a 180 rex.
357 melee, you can forget about it...400% is the very minimum, my current wild lvl 150 breeder rex has 483% in mel, see? so for a 180 wild i'd expect to get at least 460%

You got pretty close to get a good breeder here imo, but close isn't there :D

Alright, i'm not even finished with my base yet, (need to farm 70k metal) so i got plenty of time to search for rexes, thylas and ankylos while i'm waiting for the metal to respawn

Post your ark breeder screen shot. No way you have a 150 wild rex with 483 melee as it's not possible.

Post your ark breeder screen shot. No way you have a 150 wild rex with 483 melee as it's not possible.

The rex got 483 in melee after the taming bonus of course, what did you think? saying a 150 wild is just for the reference as opposed the the 180 wild from the OP.
The rex was a lvl 217 once tamed.
Btw i cannot have a "breeder rex" if it's still a wild rex....
