looking for server owner (nitrado) for eventual cluster

hi, ok so here is the thing, i own a aberration server, and me and my community, want to get acces to other "map, aka boss" to be able to unlock everything (tek)

now we have 3 choice
1 : use a mod, but well we dont like mod want to keep the game as vanilla as possible (and usually mods that add boss arent just adding boss, always something like taming breeding or whatever op godmode stuff ...)

2: buy ourself other server, and cluster by ourself, but i feel like that doing so will just split our already not so big community (ofc if 3 choice fail that probebly what we are going to do anyway)

3: look for the island and SE server owner cluster together, and by that increase community, allow everyone all the content that ark can offer AND instead of investing our money into other server, we can increase this server slot


so for ppl that "might" be interested keep in mind that our server, is similar to a official server (no mods, and constant x2)
(if we dont play on official its for the toxicity and well alpha wipe stuff lol ...)

For two or more servers to connect as one cluster, they need to both have access to one shared directory (file level, it can be on either machine).

nitrado does not allow any of its servers this level of access outside of its network. Even if you find someone who will 'link' to your cluster, you will not get the file level access to make it work

nop all wrong, in nitrado server config you can just generate a cluster ID, then use it to link all server together

That works IF both servers are hosted by nitrado cause they both have access to the shared directory.

If you read the setup from the devs....it will not work for any server that does not have access to the directory. (the cluster ID is the name of the shared directory) But best of luck, I would like to be prove wrong.

All of the clustered servers have to run on the same machine. They share all files except the save world file. So if you change a config or mod on server 1, it changes across all clustered servers.

Only someone with a Nitrado server can be clustered with yours.


Also, besides saying PvP, you don't mention rules sets. Or the willingness to adjust (settings and/or mods) for a possible cluster with another admin.

i did say that we dont like mod, server is kinda official (cause x2) instead of that there isnt any specific "rules" (instead of the obvious good manner, that i somehow said with the "we dont play on official cause of the toxicity ?..."

thats kinda ...obvious no ? as i said i have already a cluster with a rag map, so ... yeah i know already bout that

You can have option 4 btw. Make weekend event like Bosses Invasion like i do in my Aberration server. You need to add to game.ini this config:

Spawn rates is very hard to control, using 0.0001% i can see 30 GAMMA broodmothers spawned! You can choose any Aberration spawn entries << google that!

All give elements & unlocked tek engrams. On my server i do it every weekend with different type of bosses & variants ( GAMMA/BETA/ALPHA - Broodmother/Gorrila/Manticore/Dragon). Goodluck to your players if you use this option!!! Cheers.

thats actually a good idea, will keep it in mind, but yet again using this would mean using admin command and tempering with the "natural flow" of the game ;) but yet again i will keep it in mind, the event things is indeed a good idea thanks man

edit : i talked to my player a bit about doing boss event but more like every week end 1 boss, on for 48 hrs, at the starting zone (portal) all seemed super hyped, so i think we are going to go for that,

We did this on our Rag server except we built an arena. Then had an admin come spawn the bosses. Made sure ppl only had appropriate dinos. Hard on Aberration if you aren't allowing foreign dinos.

As for the cluster thing, you don't have to set eveything the same. It works with a PVE/PVP server. Really it's the same as uploading and downloading into a new ark. Only difference is the ID's are connected so you can't upload download from foreign arks.

Also, another option is you can save your server, stop it and restart it with another map. Your Host is charging you for an active game. Basically, if you are playing with mainly friends, just set up a weekend or whatever is convienient for you, swap maps, do your stuff and swap back.

well we thought of something like every friday at 23h59 at teh rockwell boss arena entrance ( the one near rock drake area) i will spawn a alpha boss, rule (that we have been thinking so far its) only 1 boss + alive for max 48h or till killed, and each boss each week of the month (like broodmother first week end, of the month, mega second, dragon third, and manticore last week end)
i think we might end up doing that, as i dont want to punish player because we dont have acces to other boss map, and if possible trigger some pvp ;) (instead of usual base raiding) actually this can be fun
