1) to attach pillars to the bottom of the farthest out pieces, down to the ground to create support for your ramps and ceiling tiles you place to connect the two. By default you would only need a pillar to support every other piece connecting the two.
or
2) Place a 3rd cliff platform in between them to be able to bridge the gap without pillars. You could place it at a middle height at the midpoint, or you could place it overlapping a little at the same height as one of the other two, just extending the existing platform to get it closer. You can use this method also to create a more tiered cliff base (like in a "Z" pattern for instance, so that the ramps only need pillars down to the cliff platform beneath it for support instead of having to stretch all the way to the ground.)
I used the natural rock pillars to connect cliff platforms on Abberation for my base that is deep in the blue zone.(I am using platforms plus, which gives bigger platforms that you can build, but the mechanics of how it works is the same.)

Put spike walls across the top of the cliff.
For the FIRST part out from one platform edge that's true. Take that pillar all the way to the ground. At the ground level you can extend out from that pillar using ceilings, then drop a pillar below ceilings. Do that to make a ground bridge below the platforms, no need for the entire pillar to go all the way up. You can remove the ceilings after, they are just there to space the pillars. Back up at the top just extend over with ceilings or ramps.
