Taming an Equus in a taming pen?
Taming equus in the wild alone is quite a pain as it can easily run into predators and being killed

But when I try to take it a taming pen to tame it, I usually encounter quite a few problem

- If the equus is spooked during the transfer to the pen with an Argy. It will stay spooked forever. This makes the whole taming proccess become a luck base, becoz you never know if the equus will be spooked during transfer. Is it a bug?

- When the equus is transferd to the pen without being spooked, you can't ride on it even if you are able to feed it.

This makes taming it almost impossible. How do you guys do it in a pen?

Yes, it staying aggroed is a bug. One way around it is bringing a Longneck Rifle and Tranquilizer Darts with you even though it is a passive non-violent tame as well as a stack of Stimberries. Then knock it unconscious and forcefeed the stimberries to wake up the Equus faster. While the Stimberries do their job fly out of render distance (this is just to be extra safe but may not be necessary) and when it wakes up its AI should have reset to its wandering state. From there you should be able to complete the taming process the normal way.

I dont remember any passive tames' inventory being accessible after being KO while its still wild, but they do wake up quite quickly, its HP you need to watch out for;

like EddieB said, stay out of render distance when it wakes up; I encountered a bug in singleplayer where I stayed beside the equus when it woke up, I cannot feed it, all it shows is a greyed-out "Ride" and even if I KO it again, it wont get fixed;

The bug IS a pain but the spooked factor makes it impossible to tame it in a box. The horse must run a certain distance from what spooked it or it will never calm down. Knocking it out just prolongs the pain. Run it till its broken and try having friends to kill the predators.

I've seen a similar issue back when i tried to tame Hyenadons. If i spooked them during the passive taming process, they would stay spooked forever in the pen, even when i left render range and came back. Probably because they couldn't actually run away from the physical point where they were spooked. It was incredibly frustrating
