How do i get the tek teleporter to work?

i spawned in the teleporter, tek gen and the elements, when i try to teleport it only gives me the option to set public transportation or demolish. is it unusable until i defeat a certain boss or am i doing it wrong? o.o it says powered....

You need to place a second teleporter elswhere.

i did, i placed it close by, then i placed it far and it didnt change the options

aka: you need to have the engram unlocked by defeating the boss or use cheats to give you the unlock

Yep, you always need the engram unlocked to be able to use tek gear
