check out OBS (Open Broadcast Software) Suite
https://obsproject.com/
there are easier to use commercial progs but obs will do practically anything they will
mostly you just need a free youtube account (or any other streaming web account)
you can use any prog to record and upload but that one does live streaming
get a good channel name not very simple like the ark player etc. or very complicated one like yandexxxx569 etc
learn gimp so that you could edit images make a good profile pic channel background.
make a channel descryption
make an intro by going to panzoid they have a good intro maker
learn video editing i recommend using davinchi resolve as its proffesional
make a good video name and topic, funny videos are the best
its better to make a callaboration with other youtubers as it gets lots of views
get a game recorder like obs i once used it but didnt work i use loilo game recorder its simple and easy
hope that helps and good luck and when you make this channel tell me so that i subscribe
it makes videos that sucks . you must use a software or a capture card to record who may want to watch a bad quality video?
Also, the thing that kills a channel, don’t take a lot of week long breaks. People will get tired of waiting for a video and leave
Keep it short and simple this to start. Start with perhaps basic game play with text overlay for explanations. Produce a few of those then go on to adding voice over versions if you wish.
Keep in mind to follow very carefully YT rules as well. So many content creators these days get their vids either flagged to not allow monetization or worse get a strike on their accounts for something more severe. Too many strikes and the account is popped.
Once you have the basics under your belt and decide to take it more seriously, start trying to build a channel "personality" for yourself(think like a radio personality or similar. You dont have to copy the screamers or the over the top inane comedic ones but just cultivate something so that you dont just drone along and turn people off to what you do.
Be consistent. Lack of consistency with content production tends to lose subscribers(outside of some niches that such isn't a concern).
Diversify. Dont rely solely on Ark. Thus dont make your channel an "ark channel". Make your channel able to out live Ark and potentially be flexible to produce any content. In other words dont name it "Ark play" or some other similar inane thing. Also by diversifying you can obtain other marketable audiences. Thus the more you add to your video portfolio the more it grows. Especially once you are comfortable with the tools used to make such vids you'll probably naturally gravitate towards doing this sort of thing.
Dont expect nor make it your goal to be a high sub or high revenue channel. If it happens be pleasantly surprise and gracious about it. Too often people get into doing this expecting they'll be the next big hit and when they cannot maintain subs or make money or such they just stop. Match your expectations with your channel -as- your channel builds.
Have a thick teflon coat to critiism and trolls in comments on your channel. Dont be overly influenced by what's said but at the same time dont ignore it either. Comment respond to engange and retain folks not alienate them.
If you start to be comfortable with what you're doing, then make a twitter account to promote the channel and use common twitter marketing techniques(reasonable ones mind you) to advertise and engage others to potentially have watch/sub.
Do the same thing with using twitch as well since it can be a doubling up way to get viewership across both.
If you decide to not stick with it, dont feel bad. 9 out of 10 people who get into this stuff do not stick with it.
Creeper: Noted, thanks very much for the advice mate. I'll definitely try to do at least one video a week.
Retsam: Thank you very much friend, that is exactly the kind of depth I was looking for. I'll copy down everything you said and thank you again for all of that advice, I agree that should be embedded for all YouTube newcomers to see!
Thanks again guys can't wait to get the ball rolling. I'm not sure what I want to do for my first vid, maybe a let's play or some beginner tutorial vids for a basic house and tames?
