Heres a clue sparky
its not the game
Point of fact
Its not the game, its your system.
Some games handle software and hardware differently than others, just because you have 0 issues in other games does not make it solely a problem with ARK.
Download DDU and run it in safe mode, select Clean and Restart
download the graphic driver before hand to make it easier.
Uninstalled GPU Driver. Reinstalled. Fine.
Played for 3 hours. Fine.
4th hour. BSOD Crash.
Do you think I've over looked the filenames in the crash?
""""Atikmpag.sys is a kernel driver that installed with ATI Graphics Cards. A kernel driver works directly with the operating system and hence, needs to function in a very stable environment.
atikmpag stands for AMD ATI multi-vendor Kernel Miniport Driver
Atikmpag.sys is a Windows driver. A driver is a small software program that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or connected devices. This means that a driver has direct access to the internals of the operating system, hardware etc.""""
Thanks, google warrior. You obseration has saved wasted my day.
Essientially, what I've GOT (hence prior) from this is that ARK was trying to access something it shouldn't (unoptimised garb) and is the sole cause of the problem at hand.
Hypothesis> "Ark is the cause of the crash."
Test> _Ark successfully crashes my PC_
Introduce other variables> "Maybe it's my drivers."
Uninstall/Reinstall Latest drivers> Repeat cycle
Hypothesis> Test> _Playing Ark Crashes my PC._
Introduce other variables> "Maybe my PC can't play any other games."
Play WoW> No crash. Play CS:GO> No crash. Overwatch. No crash. Play Weeb ♥♥♥♥> No crash
Stress test> Fur Mark, Memory Diagonistic, Benchmark ma ♥♥♥♥. No crash.
Hypothesis> Test> _Playing Ark Crashes my PC._
Introduce other variables> "Do, literally, everything else I do on my PC ever."
Do all the things> No crash.
Hypothesis> Test> _Playing Ark Crashes my PC._
Results. Ark is the problem.

good luck resolving it by yourself.
Fact
The crash has to do with your graphic drivers
Which means your PC is the problem from a driver standpoint.
try rolling back you driver
I am fairly confident that a graphics change was made in the Aberration release that does not like AMD drivers. It is NOT just one person's PC with a graphics driver problem.
I just saw a week old thread of someone who said this was solved by adding -norhithread to the command line. I am going to try this and see if it helps.
Stop being a Sebastian Gorka and recognise that some here are very likely to have more experience then yourself.
SniperNoSniping, Likely have to wait for a hotfix to arrive
First of all
thanks for necro'ing
Second of all
whats my VAC have to do with anything?
its on an insignificant game so be a good little dog and mind your own business
Thanks
And no
Ignorant brats like you do NOT have more experience than me.
Actually know what a bluescreen means before you go running your mouth
Silky, you're partially right... It doesn't take much code to cause a driver to BSOD. You simply make the driver do something it isn't intented to do, and suprise! BSOD.
Now there are usually checks and balances to prevent a BSOD from a thrown error, but as there are TWO major video card manufacurers and millions of games, it often falls to the game developer to report or correct the issue.
then you should be able to fix your problem..
but then again, I found alien life and cured cancer if I go by your example...
Regardless, I work in the industry, it doesn't mean I make drivers for AMD or patches for ARK.
If you do find alien life let us know!
Local for sure, but telling this guy its HIS system specifically is not correct. He should not be replacing parts. If he ran all the tests and it only shows a BSOD while in ARK (Like the Overwatch issue recently) then best he can do is send reports and wait for a fix.
An update to a game can cause (expose) a BSOD. The hardware itself should not be replaced
and before you start posting stupid things, here is error, as far i can see wrong instructions send from game to driver over DX, and this is well know error, looks like ARK devs just went on shortcuts to finish something, have fun and do some real GOOGLING, mr, expert [ dont know on what, as for sure not computers ], bug dates back to windows VISTA
