Giant Bee Hive Issue
I play on official center server and have had issues when attacking bee hives. I will shoot at it or even melee it and nothing comes out or happens, besides the health on the hive decreasing from my attacks. Once i destroy it nothing comes out either... no giant bee drones nor the queen. Ive done this 6 times each the same and have restarted twice.. anyone have any suggestions....

Is this on aberration?

Go around destroying all the hives, sometimes the queen inside despawns. This will allow for hives to respawn, then you can go and kill those ones and hopefully get a queen. Not sure why you want a queen, tho. In my experience, it's much more effective to just run around to wild hives for honey

I missed "center", just saw "play on official". I haven't played center, but on aberration there are hives that don't always contain queens. Not sure if center has the same.

most likely that could be the case

If you get really close to the hive and turn up your volume you can actually listen and hear whether or not it contains a queen.

I've had a bee hive going for like, 4 days now, and it's only produced some 35 honey.

we've had like 4 hives and had more honey than we knew what to do with. Dropped down to just 1 after we had everything we wanted with it. I personally prefer to have it on tap at base than hunt for it.

Was it an S+ Hive or a normal one?

This was on official, 3100 of my hours were official before moving over to unofficial recently.

I think this may be "working as intended." Hives can spawn without a queen, and they're only good for getting honey. On they other hand, they're an easy source of honey as long as you have a ghillie suit and don't smash them, if you haven't managed to tame a queen of your own.

In my singleplayer game, I've got two "quiet" hives right at the exit from the portal room. I've got more honey than I can store, before I've even had time to set up crop plots. (The drawback is that I can't build a usable long term fort in the portal room, because there are zero sources of fresh water in there, and no rain.)

did you know! that condensation is a thing in aberration?! I don't know about other maps, but if you set up enough resivoires you can actually get water, no troll a friend did it. An industrial cooker can't function off one, unfortunately, but water is water.

No, I did not know that. I wasn't aware the game even had a mechanic for that. I'll have to try it. Once I can get some elevators working, there's a couple of places that might be good spots to build a garden.
