Aberration: Locations for Flyers?
Heya Folks. I've been wandering around in the New Map and see that it goes verry Deep. But I also see the Sun shining through the canopy. I don't want to get too far down and learn that Flyers are near the surface. Do any of you have suggestions on where I can find one to make getting around easier?

Rock Drakes glide- as close as you can get on the map. Thank. God.

You get around easier with ziplines primarily. Ziplines+ravager=mobility. Karkinos later on for pretty much all terrain hoppy jumpy mode and once you get a rock drake? Well, flying will seem slow cause it is.

But that's uber boring. Fliers make this map too easy... :/

So are the Rock Drakes in the Depths? I haven't Seen any yet. And What of Ravagers and Zip Lines? I have 2 Ravagers. Do they go across?

Rock drakes are in the radiation depths, and yes ravagers can run up and down ziplines

Excellent!!!! Thank you. So do I need to keep the zip lines close to the ground or can they Climb walls and or Jump up to them? Also as a mount?

Ravagers can't climb walls, but ziplines are sufficient. Natural and man-made ones are usable.

To use the ziplines while riding a Ravager, you'll press spacebar when the crosshair appears when facing one. You can jump off the ziplines with spacebar if there isn't ample room to just walk off, and you can also hang upside down by pressing "C". That can be used to pass by any other ravagers you have following you, so that you can't get stuck. Friendly and or wild/enemy Ravagers will automatically jump onto the zipline to follow you. If you really have to jump to get up off a zipline somewhere, they won't do that with you and may fall, however. Another thing: Pressing "S" will make your Ravager turn around on the zipline.

Just note that mounted Ravagers take full fall damage, so be careful when straversing high-up ziplines. Other than the obvious risks, ziplines and ravagers are a great way to set up pipelines for your irrigation, going from the highest cliffsides, all the way down to the rivers if you so wish.

As it comes to placing ziplines of your own using the zipline ammo and a crossbow, you'll want to shoot a safe exit point next to you first, and then line up the green line that shows up to somewhere that you want it to go. That way, you won't have to guess the shot drop on the anchor, and you can also get a feel of its range limit. (Which is pretty short.)

Ziplines aren't all they're cracked up to be. You'll want a rock drake, but to get one of those, you'll have to brave the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hellpit where the eggs spawn. I don't joke when I say hellpit, radiation, purple-ass lava, super difficult terrain, the works, and when you pick up an Egg, god help you because nothing else will. I honest to God recommend you get a Reaper before you try for a Drake.

On the plus side once you get one rock drake no matter the level it will be easy to get more cause you can just leap down and wall climb back up no screwing around

Megalosaurus handled the Rock Drakes just fine. Take one or more down there with you to eat them when they come after you.
